Re: The 4:3 tent is up.

Just had dinner of chicken and veg, gosh I needed it. I've been hungry all day, I'm putting it down to it being much colder today. I've had 402cals today so I'm very pleased with self for staying on track. Think an early night is in order.
@bobshouse I tried staying on track at xmas when there and was convinced I'd be able to fast without any problems, doing it was a different matter. I'm still trying to get back to my pre-xmas weight. This time I'll just be happy if I can stay on track a little bit, 16:8 seems like the answer to me. If any of the 16:8s turn into a full fast all the better.

Just had my dinner too and was also cold and hungry! Had visitors arrive for dinner unexpectedly so ended up having too many calories. Not worried though and will carry on with rest of week!

@bobshouse . Hope you enjoyed your meal. We're in the right place at the mo so going over your cals a little is no big deal, it's mindful and controlled, much better than unmindful, out of control. Well done

That is how I felt. As this is a life plan a few calories over one day is not a problem. On 16:8 tomorrow. Am out in the evening so will skip dinner but have breakfast and lunch. Not sure how that will work with fasting Wednesday which is why I am not bothered about going over today.

Am typing away in bed, with a headache...so will (for once!) make it brief......many thanks for your support. Feel good to have got a fast under my belt.....so it's onwards and downwards...as they say!

Night night all xx

Feeling much better today, not very hungry at all. It's much warmer here today and I'm sure that really helps. I'm counting and weighing everything today, I've been guessing at it and think I may be overestimating the cals as others seem to get a lot more bang for their buck. I don't think I will eat more if I am overestimating but it's good to know. Hope you're all having a good day. :)

I've just had my dinner. I weighed and counted everything and it turns out I was overestimating the cals in my chicken salad by about 100 cals. A bit of an eye opener really. I will be doing this every fastday now. It's nice knowing I have some cals in the bank if I need them. Thanks @pinchypops

Well hello! A bit late to the party, but this week is my first of 4:3 (after 3 weeks of 5:2).

I'm fasting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. After realising today that my TDEE is about 1600, I'm fasting with 400 cals now instead of 500. Today was accidentally a bit of a transition day and I had about 430cals, but about to burn 100cals or so exercising, so could be worse...(not yet got off the sofa, but I WILL do it).

Tiny bit nervous about fasting on a Friday, but should stop myself eating lots of treats 'because it's Friday'.

Really looking forward to this, bring it on.

@justdee - I knew you must have been overestimating!

Weighing is such a great way to get the best out of our calorie allowances.

Th king of joining you guys.i have been doing 16/8 for three weeks plus a fast about once a week
Anyway ,my weights was down a kilo on Monday but today for no reason,I didn't eat much,I have put on a kilo
Since starting three weeks ago I have lost half a kilo
To be honest I only have a few kilos I want to lose and I have always struggled with these few last kilos.i tried to do this with 16/8 and not counting calories but it's not working
So will fast today .although I don't count calories I know when I over eat and yesterday in my window I are lots of nuts...high calorie
Last year I lost weight doing 5/2 or 4/3 .got into a good pattern, apple for breakfast ,salad for lunch ,protein and veg dinner.just finding it so hard to do it again
So maybe if I commit here it will help.need the support and by committing and promising to report back I am hoping I can stick to it.one day at a time

Good luck @Sarahg, I haven't been here long but I am pretty sure you're in the right place! Those last few pesky kilos are the hardest (not that I'm there yet), but it sounds like you know what doesn't work for you and what does. I'm sure somebody more experienced will be along with some more practical advice soon :geek:
