5-2-diet-chat-f6/the-official-springing-into-fall-challenge-t12670.html
just add your reply to the end of the thread, with your goal and how you're going to get there. @cblastz will add you to the front page with a number and then you report in your progress. Simples
ps good to see you again. How's the wild swimming going? Just read a message from one of non diving daughter's friends saying it was time she was back in the sea and encouraging her to join in before she leaves God's own islands.

Hi croftmclean, I'm going for a link here, hope it works for you! Having trouble tagging due to the ubiquitous black box, so I'll try a different way

Hi Sue,
Well I'm back 4:3ing after falling off the wagon, for about a year! I lost a stone, gained a stone, and am now back onto it. The hardest thing was getting back into it- i've had loads of half-fasts leading up to today! But, luckily today I managed a whole one (just 500 cals split between bkfast and dinner), and am feeling motivated again. 4 3 has got to be the quickest way to do slow fasting! Good luck to you - how do you find back 2 back fasting? Do you get hungry?

Hi @caro510 Welcome to the 4:3 area,
Well done on today's successful fast that will give you the high feeling especially tomorrow then you can build on that into the forthcoming week.
I'm fine with back2back if I don't eat lunch/snack and keep busy + occupied my problems start once I eat I do become more hungry, but obviously they aren't for everyone, 4:3 worked so well for me last year but I've struggled this year whittling a little off now + again at least I think I now know how to maintain.
You'll soon get rid of your gain, stay forum focused and pop into the fasting today thread, there's also a challenge going on but I've set my goal low this time after failing all of the ones done this year.
:clover: :clover: Good. Luck Caro :clover: :clover:

Still in the sand pit @Sue.Q. Leave for fair shores on Thursday , only 2 days 16 hours and 20 minutes to go!
Will fast today making it a 5:2 week. disappointed that I am 2kg up on last month's weight. not sure if it can all be down to shredding!
I have been so hungry that I'm convinced my body is conspiring against me. I've been doing this for 21 months now so a bit of rebellion is to be excpected. I am toying woth using the holiday as a refeeding time and then really get into the lated challenge when I get back.
Hohum, it is disheartening, BUT, i haven't measured yet. I feel so much firmer and trimmer, just hope the evidence of the tape measure bears it out.

Morning all.
I'm still doing 4:3 along with 16:8 and low carbing, except for a little shake up each Sunday! I am finding this way of eating easy to cope with and am not as obsessed with food and mealtimes as I was doing 5:2.

Hi guys and gals, I'm back! Haven't been on here in ages, since well before the switchover. I've been steadily 4:3ing with the odd 5:2 week when life got in the way and I have lost....

Wait for it......

0 lbs.
I must seriously be underestimating what I'm eating on my 4 normal eating days a week. Hope you're all doing better than me!!

Nope! Failing big time just now! Tried to weigh this morning but my unlevel floors gave very different numbers depending on where I put my scales. Suspect I have gained though which doesn't help. Lots of stress just now which probably is not helping either. Hope I manage to fast tomorrow.

Welcome back @JennyH10 well done you've managed to maintain that actually a very good achievement, I'm not doing much better myself just whittling a little here and there but unfortunately for me I need to carve big chunks out needing another 50lbs to go.

@Bobshouse The stress you have will be the reason you're struggling with fasting, hope tomorrow works out well for you. :like:

hang in there @bobshouse, just take it one day at a time. As for the scales, take the lowest number ;) I know this isn't always the correct number but like with any eating plan, it's all in our heads. If you don't like what the scale says maybe you should put them away for a month, I know this has worked well for you before. Good luck hun, I know it can be hard with other stresses. And never mind the 'Hope I manage to fast tomorrow.' , tell yourself you're going to do it and you can do it. Hope to see you in here tomorrow. We're going to have an easy day.
I'm ready for my 2nd fast tomorrow. I've had a good non-fastday. I had smaller meals today which was much better as I didn't feel stuffed after. I have to confess I did have a croissant for lunch, I forgot all about the lower carbing until I'd started it..... honest ;) Not a total fail though because I had a very low carb dinner and 2 eggs for breakfast. Must try harder hehe.

Will put in a cautious day tomorrow in the hope of a breakthrough of this bl***y plateau. :clover:

Having a rethink where I am with 4:3.
As I've said recently, my body is seriously rebelling. I've weighed and measured this morning for my official excise day- up 1kg and no real movement on the tape measure. I feel tighter and slimmer though. The shred has something to answer for that! :)
I have been soooo hungry; fast days, ordinary days, during the night!
Yesterdays fast went slightly off. I was ravenous, held out but got overheated (which is BAD for janeg) so couldn't shred. Ate my poached eggs and foul and just wasn't satisfied so added two small slices of bread. That helped.
So, I'm going for refeed over my holidays. I've been 4:3ing for a year now, so a wee break will do no harm.
I'll evaluate when I get back. Currently thinking back to 5:2 and do THE CALORIE COUNTING    on the other days just to check the TDEE. Not happy about it but , needs must.
Hang in there everyone. We'll get there and we're doing our bods good even if the weight isn't shifting.
:D
ps 1 day , 4 hours and 32 minutes to go...

Thanks Dee. Am going to give up the scales for now as it always stumbles me if no loss shows. I am not fasting today but will do my big monthly shop to ensure I have the right foods in. I do not have the money for extras so my diet has to be basic. The positive from this is I don't have biscuits and sweets on a regular basis as budget does not allow! They really are a treat in this house. I make cakes which is our treat! I am planning to swop my breakfast cereal for fromage blanc, a type of yogurt here, with fruit. I will stock up on fruit and veg as far as budget allows. At the moment the raspberries are ripening fast and we get a bowl full each day. Have had lots of black currants too which are in the freezer ready for jam making and fruit bottling in the autumn. Apples and pears look to be abundant this year. Gradually I am changing my diet for the better and one day my weight will go down. I am happy being size 12 too it is just my BMI is too high.
So today I will eat lightly but not fast and will aim to get back to fasting on Friday. I will stick with this.
