The good:

The first thing my friend said today was "you're looking very slim, what have you been doing?"

The bad:

It's pouring with rain and predicted to stay that way, so it's going to be a cold and soggy run! :frown:

Well how good did that make you feel hey? As for the weather...you can forget about it when you have compliments like that. I can only imagine such a scenario!

If its any consolation Bean - I love the new pic haha!

@Debs time to share! Whats the verdict after three days!?

Wow yesterday was a weak moment for me I ended up going to bed a 6.45pm

I feel so stink cause I yelled at my wife cause I was so hungry and she asked me to prepare her dinner for her :-( I hate yelling at her, she's the love of my life! I just felt out of control it was horrible so went to bed haha

Well today is a new day. and a lighter day... down another 500 grams!

Morning all!
Well, I completed a three day fast and.....I'm still here, I didn't fall off the wagon, and I am at my lowest in quite some time. A BMI of 25 is beckoning in the distance, today it is 26.02.
The conclusions:
. I didn't die, collapse or faint after three days and in fact it wasn't too bad. Day 1 I ate about 500 cals, the secons 400ish, yesterday, nothing at all.
. I didn't suffer any brain fades, feel gaga or kill anyone! When I say that, it is difficult to assess whether I did get rattier than usual as I was already ratty from doing 21 days of work in a row, so I can't separate different degrees of rattiness
. I only had a couple of times when I was ready to kill for food, but I got distracted by work which helped. Last night was the worst as I decided to eat nothing.

I started on the 21st on 64.7kg, but I honestly think that was an aberrant weight as I was around 62kg prior to that, if I leave that weight out I lost 1kg. If I add it in I lost just under 4kg. My gut (ha ha) reaction tells me that isn't the case.

In conclusion, I haven't lost as much as I had hoped for doing a stint of ADF, but I am going to continue when I get back from break, during which I shall eat at will, inasfar as I can with a reduced appetite. I shan't hit my Valentine's Day goal weight which is a disappointment, but I shall keep on.
Incidently, I am getting my cholesterol tested on Tuesday when I go home, and as I stopped taking my statins I shall be very interested in the result.

Wow Debs, to me that looks like a great result - its certainly broken through the average you were sitting at so I would say a success!

Great going!

Debs.... That's a bag of mixed feelings, and understandably so. Really well done for sticking with the three days. Particularly in light of the zero calorie last day!

Here's hoping you have a wonderful break and excellent results when you get back :clover:

Thanks Winsome and Tim. Yes, not an enthusiastic endorsement, but an honest one! The experiment continues!
Not one for you Tim by the sounds of things with your poor wife!!

I am usually totally fine with fast days but yesterday was a public holiday and for the whole day I put up with her grazing food next to me and then for her to turn around and ask me to cook her "separate" dinner - I flipped off the wall..

During a fast day I usually have the same as her but she might add some roast vegie etc which I will leave out - I don't mind cooking the stuff I will be eating plus her serving but to also cook the extra food she is having I find too hard - it just adds way to much temptation.

I said to her "If a had a gambling addiction would you take me into a casino and ask me to hold your coins while you feed a slot machine.."

hahaha

How are all you ADF peeps today? Who's fasting? @nursebean?

Hello All

In my daily weigh in this morning I broke through into the 220's! with a weight in of 229lbs
So happy as since Oct I've been really slack with the 5:2 and just couldn't get back into the 220's (228 was my lowest in September)
But I'm back close to it!
I must confess to being delighted with my week trial of ADF so far, one more fast on Saturday to end the trial week, so fingers crossed for a good final figure.
Whilst I haven't found the ADF difficult, the only annoyance it working out what the husband will eat! :?:
I think I will go back to 5:2 and maybe once a month have a week of ADF to boost my weight loss.
Perhaps I am a good case study for someone who has a lot to lose, Debs you may by disappointed that you won't hit your Valentine target, you are already slim! Cograts on your 3 day fast BTW :like:

That is brilliant bad girl, I am really pleased for you! :like:
It is great isn't it when you can see the difference! Any change in measurements to go with it?
I know for some it does come off easier to start and I have found it pretty hard, hence the drastic intervention. I have eaten a lot of a scrummy junk today, crumpets, raisin toast, salted peanuts, a weird Korean cake thingy and , about to have raspberries and icecream! but fasting again tomorrow.
For me it was a willpower test, and I am really pleased that I passed. The last time I got to this weight was on an intensive twelve week program and I was permanently hungry and miserable! That has to count for something!

That is a good idea to maybe do it once a month, that way it may not feel like too much of a chore. As for the hubby, show him where the kitchen is and shut the door

Hi Debs

I haven't got the tape measure out yet.

Believe me, I don't cook for hubby, he does his own! Its just a pain to think about what to buy to ensure we are both catered for.
He does fast too, but was meant to be away for three weeks on a course so I thought it would be perfect for me to try ADF - but he was sent home due to illness!

Apologies to hubby   .
Ah well, if we can't decide what to eat we usually resort to a bowl of oats and yoghurt! In fact I had fruit and yoghurt tonight after stalking through the mess and not finding anything I felt like eating!
It is good he shares the fasting too. Mine fasts but more loosely as he doesn't need to and is lighter than he was when I met him 26 years ago. Mind you he was drinking disgusting amounts of beer and Guinness then!!!
