Re: The ADF Tent

I am so glad to hear your fondness towards ADF Debs! Really stoked that its working for you - it seems to be the case for all of us in here!

Well not sure if you all remember but my first week on ADF/EOD was away for work surviving off takeaways... Well its that time of the month again so tomorrow I have about 400km worth of driving to do as well as about 8-10 hours worth of meetings to present. Its going to be a long day and its falling on a fast day!

Wish me luck everyone!

I am sure it will be fine, if I can survive a kids birthday party I think I can survive anything hahahaha

Fasts do seem to be getting easier and easier which is really good to finally be sensing.

Here's to another great week! (just being so optimistic because I negotiate the terms of my new position tomorrow so here's hoping for a decent pay rise!)

Ah yes, always helps!! At least doing ADF you don't have to worry about what to eat half the time!!!
You can always take nuts etc with you if you can't find anything worth eating, or protein shakes if you get really desperate.
I shall come back to it when I come back to work in a week, hopefully the fast followed by a feed will confuse things nicely!
Good luck with your payrise!!

And good luck on those mad kiwi roads

I love this trip the travel is so beautiful! tomorrow I am going down through Taupo and over the desert road - such epic scenery through there. (even better in winter but then the roads are very dodgy) - last year I was driving through there and it was fall on snowing and as I came out the other end of the road the road had been closed.

You Europeans may be use to that but first and only time in my life i've driven in snow - and our roads and cars are not set up for it - hence them closing the road. Was a scary drive can tell you that!

It is beautiful, we have been over that way too. Some very dodgy driving though, some complete lunatics on the road!
Drive safely!

I really need to come back to NZ. We were there two yrs ago but didn't travel much as had Oz to visit too. 20 odd yrs ago before we had the kids we drove down North Island, around Taupo - beautifull. Ferry over then train down to Christchurch we then drove to Greymouth through Arthur's Pass. We're driving in brilliant sunshine for a few hours then up into the snow, thick blizzards, then back into lovely sun on the other side. In a hire car.

Soz, just popping in to see how the ADF gang were doing. Not many steps for you at the moment then Tim. Just physician by myself up for a little running training.

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello and was horrified to see that yesterday was your birthday @Winsome I'm so sorry to have missed it (I don't actually know how we know when it's someone's birthday on here). Anyway, we share the same day (how sweet!). So you're my fasting buddy and my birthday buddy :-)

Well I've popped into the tent a day early (just checking up on you all!) I plan to start my EOD/ADF fasting with a vengeance tomorrow. No more puddings on feast days (except maybe a yoghurt in the evening) and NO chocolate until Easter Day. Can I do it? Well you'll have to wait and see...

Beanie, when you first log on you are on the home page so if you scroll down to the bottom, on the right hand side you will see things like, number of members now, newest members name and then on the left hand side you can see who is logged on and at the end of that list you will see who's birthday it is that day AND it says how OLD they are.

I am bowing out of ADF for the week whilst I am at home. The three weeks were a test run and I will resume when. I get back on the 18th and see whether I can make a better dent in my weight. It didn't go as well as I had hoped but I am really pleased to see others are doing do well on it!
I am happy to know that I can manage it easily enough though. My biggest problem is finding enough decent food to eat on the days I am eating as I have been eating too much fruit and yoghurt in the absence of anything nice in the canteen.
I shall be poking my head through the canvas tent flap to cheer the rest of you on though!
