I thougt I would update you on the start of my ADF week. I normally fast Wednesday and Sunday on 5:2, with a weekly weigh in on a Monday morning.

233lbs - Start weight on Sunday morning FAST day (eek, much higher than last Mondays weigh in, must be eating out three times in the week )

231.2lbs - weight on Monday morning (.6lb increase on last weeks weigh in - as I said must have been all thse Thai meals!)

231.8lbs - weight on Tuesday morning, FAST day (am shamefaced to say I had another Thai meal out last night too! )

230.4lbs - weight on Wednesday morning

So I've finished my week of ADF now and following up on my weigh in results above they are:

230.8lbs - weight on Thursday morning, and suprised I gained so little on yesterdays feed day

229lbs - weight on Friday morning - I break back through to the 220's!

230lbs - weight on Saturday morning - had a meal out last night (suprisinly not Thai this time!)

END WEIGHT on Sunday Morning 228.4lbs

So a total of 4.6lbs for the week - I'm chuffed!

Very happy with the week, I think I will be incorporating a week of ADF every month with my 5:2. Thank you for your help - Enjoy your time back home Deb

@Badgirl666 you devil you. That is a great achievement and I'm so glad ADF works for you. It'll be interesting to compare your results (only doing ADF once a month) to mine (continuous ADF). Perhaps we'll compare results after a month?

Thanks @Sue.Q (not sure if I'm kidding myself that I'll be able to avoid chocolate for what will be about 9 weeks!)

Hope @Debs you enjoy your "time off" and have a lovely break. Miss you already

Oh @Nursebean, comparing my ADF once a month and your continual ADF is a good idea - and will actually makes sure I do it once a month!!

I will be lurking close to the ADF tent and will be reporting for full ADF duty on Sunday 2nd March for my designated week!

Don't worry too much Tim because even if you have a break you'll soon return and get back on track. No worries!

Not running away, just having a little foodie break! I asked Krista Varady what to do if the three days didn't work, you know what she said? Add in ANOTHER fast day :curse: . I have checked to confirm but seems very extreme and I shall ignore it if that is the case.
I will see you all for serious ADF on the 18th!

That advice seems extreme - I don't like the all or nothing approach and this seems to be heading that way. Perhaps Krista Varady needs to focus on more "real-world" situations - fasting for 4 days in a row doesn't seem right to me.

I actually think she means five!!! I am seeking clarification as it would be bizarre and not very practical!

That just sounds like she's recommending a VLC diet instead of IF. They've been shown to be unhealthy and unsustainable, so I'm curious to hear what she comes back to you with.

Will keep you posted. Three days was doable but five?! How is your fasting going today now I have stopped mentioning the P word?!
