I count calories on non-fast days but I don't restrict them.

p.s. re: clothes shopping in the US. I went a bit crazy at the outlet mall by my sister's house at Xmas. The sales were *so* good, and compared to Japan, the clothes were so much nicer and cheaper, and as a bonus, fit me better. I went with a suitcase full of clothes for the Good Will (I figured no one in Japan would want clothes at my old size), and returned with a suitcase full of new clothes.

Good to know MaryAnn

In particular, I'm hoping to find some trousers and jeans that fit. I'm short in the leg but long in the rise, and it's a nightmare. Thankfully I love dresses, but there are times when trousers are required.

Still stuck in groundhog weight. It's gone up today, but then I have got my TOTM. Last night my stomach was so swollen I really thought it was going to explode!!

Oh well, maybe next week will be better. What with ADF and low carbs, I'm sure the weight will just drop off (she kids herself!)

I haven't been calorie counting on eating days as I don't normally eat on fast days, but I am trying to go low carb this time around to see if that fits in with my 'apple' shape. I will do a rough log and see how the carbs go as I am not sure about the content of some foods. I shall be poking my head in the low carb tent occasionally!

Well todays weigh in was not up or down just exactly the same.

The difference I put down to cheating haha - I decided yesterday that I would go slightly over to celebrate sticking at it for 1 full month.

So after dinner I had a bowl of yoghurt and fruit salad.

1 Month and only that one day going over 500 calories on fast day!

I am pretty proud of that

WOOHOO!!

I GOT A NEW NUMBER!!! :victory:

12.0.8 today. That feels so good! I'm so glad that I kept the faith

I was hopeful yesterday because I tried on a dress I bought in the sales that was too small - three weeks ago I couldn't get the zip done up. Yesterday it did up with ease!

Tim, well done for not cheating before. I have to say, I haven't cheated either (one month on Wednesday for me) and I think that's back to the EOD thing. When it was two fasts a week, it's easy to think a little over won't hurt... When you know it's 3-4 times a week you know you can't
get away with that!

Well done Tim, you're doing so well aren't you!

I'm beginning to realise now why I'm not losing weight very quickly. I mean, I know I can't exercise so that doesn't help, but this morning my mum had cooked some porridge oats for me. I always thought they were a great, healthy start to the day and would keep me full until the next meal. However, when I worked them out on MFP (having already eaten them, mind) I discovered they came to 641 calories and a whopping 112 carbs. I could cry. Mind you, I didn't know how to put into MFP that it was made with half milk and half water. MFP isn't very good with things like that is it.

Anyway, I'm off to hide in a corner somewhere...

Bean :talktothehand:

oops you beat me to it! Well done indeed @Winsome

Thank you Bean

Are you sure you counted the porridge up correctly? That seems a LOT, even for a big serving . When I make porridge I allow 1/3 cup of dry oats per person for me and the girls (a bit more for hubby) as that was the SW allowance. It's not much dry but it's plenty made up, especially with some fruit.

Fantastic day today  :victory:

11.13.8 - woohoo! I didn't fast yesterday either, as we were in London for the day. Lots of wine and yummy food.

Also, my waist/height ratio has dropped below the 50% mark!

It's a GOOD day

Well done @Winsome it's all going so well for you isn't it!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow's weigh in because, following a feast day yesterday I weighed in at the same weight today (it usually goes up 2lb). This should hopefully mean that I'll LOSE another two pounds by the time I weigh tomorrow! Oh I sure do hope so

Bean

Er, where is everyone today? I feel as though the world has ended...and I'm the last to know

I'm sure it does mean a loss tomorrow @nursebean - that's how mine went anyway. Fingers crossed!

On my way back bean! Just getting my last lot of junk food goodies in before I get back to the culinary wasteland that is my camp!! Starting ADF again tomorrow and hoping that this time it will make a difference.

Btw @tbrewerton, I saw your post on Krista Varady's website but she didn't really answer your question did she? I asked about a consecutive three day fast not working and she said to add another!! Surely that can't be healthy?
