Re: The ADF Tent

@nursebean I can't ADF this week owing to pre-booked social stuff - all organised before I started ADF. Bear in mind that my two VERY sharp nine year old girls do not, and, in my opinion SHOULD not know that I fast...

Friday lunch: half term get together with a load of mums and children from school. At someone's house so I'm not in control of the food.

Friday afternoon: afternoon tea with grandparents; the children are staying with them this weekend.

Saturday/Sunday: weekend away at a posh spa hotel, a wonderful 'big birthday' present from my in-laws

I posted about this dilemma elsewhere on the board, and the consensus was to enjoy life and just make sure that I got two good fasts in this week and straight back on it on Monday. I will skip breakfast on Friday and lunch on Sunday, and eat lightly (probably home made soup) on Sunday evening.

Having tried a back to back fast in the past and failed miserably, I don't think it's for me, and I don't honestly think it would make that much difference in the long run. I KNOW I want to keep doing ADF and the way I got my knickers on a twist over this in my other thread proves how the structure of ADF is vital to me, so am not worried about making a habit of it.

Wow! What a lovely few days you're gonna have @Winsome no, I can see why fasting isn't an option! Just enjoy and have a fabulously relaxing time!

As for me, I'm pretty happy because the weight is,starting to continue downwards at a steady pace...and I feel more in control. I can't imagine doing any other type of fast than ADF at the moment. I think it's working

Hello all,
The hunger fairy has visited me today and I haven't wanted to stop eating!! Then I realised that my tinned plums, pears and yoghurt for brekkie were a huge carb bomb, so no more plums for me :starving:
I fasted ok yesterday and I'm sure I will tomorrow, I just need to break the back of my carby week off!! Not weighing myself for a few days though until I have settled down a bit!

It's amazing @Debs doesn't it, how the hunger grabs you when you've had a few days "off" and reveals how much good the fasting way of life brings. You'll soon get back in the wagon. Hope works ok

*waves* I'm just popping in for a week after a calorterrific weekend!
back down to 10 6 (and 3/4). Nice to see how you're all doing.

@winsome that's me - short in the leg and long in the body. I'm in 'petite' jeans now!!

@nursebean when inputting into MFP, put the uncooked weight of porridge and the volume of milk before adding Don't worry about the water. The calculate any sugar/honey.

Day one of 2 Days done. Slight headache but I always get that from the travel!

A heap more driving tomorrow too tho so if it hasn't shifted by the morning I will pop a couple of pills.

Good to have you back on bored Debs :-) Love this way of eating too - not sure I could go back now. I have a work conference the second week of March and have already decided that that week will be a week off fasting just because it will be way to hard especially when spending 24/7 with my colleagues for 5 days! By then I should be pretty close to my interim weight anyway and when I hit that I was planning to try maintaining for 2 weeks just to have a small break and then continue on down

Hello ADF ers, how's it going.

I've just discovered that a colleague of mine is doing this, she is also a quiet faster. She's doing very well but doesn't do forums. It's a shame as we all share so much.
I know I'm a bit weird, but I like a little headache now and then, it often shows me that I'm burning fat.

Well yesterday's fast was ok, although I felt very hungry in the evening. I'm sure some of that was boredom: hubby was away and that always makes me fidgety and wanting to pick in the evenings.

Today, my girls are at a cookery school for a few hours (present from godparents) and I am mooching around a very nice little town with a plethora of cafes and other eateries  Just tucking into a posh coronation chicken sandwich on walnut bread, with a pot of earl grey tea in the side. How could I resist a place called 'The Cake Shed' :?:

Hi there all. Hope we are all doing well. I agree Winsome, Cake Shed sounds right up my street too!!
Tim, you could do 16:8 that week or nibble? Difficult though isn't it when you are stuck with other people intent on eating themselves silly at a conference?!!
I am getting towards the end of a fast today and have had some blueberrie so far. WIll try and resist too much else though.

Fasting today. Looking forward to a big plate of vegetables tonight, and maybe some salmon.

Yesterday was all about bread, cakes, and only punctuated by a big of chicken and some fresh mango  I feel very sluggish this morning as a result.

Well I completed my two days with no issues - although this morning I lack energy! (most likely due to being in a motel and not sleeping well though haha)

Both days I actually only averaged 300 Calories so considering I was surviving on takeaway food I was pretty proud of that!

Just wokr up and had a massive breaky and then a chocolate bar hahahaha and now my tummy is turning on me - prob wasn't a good idea to eat so much so fast oooppps lol

Oh shhhh with the talk of chocolate Tim

Hi everyone. It's been a bit quiet in this tent lately. I guess we're all on different time zones or something.

I'm coming to the end of my fast today. I don't know about you guys but I find the evenings drag...but I've been very good and just stuck to my 400 cal chicken piri piri with spicy basmati rice (mmmmm) followed by 85 cal butterscotch mousse ( mmmmm)

Looking forward to tomorrow's feast

Well done Tim! The temptation is to make up for lost time I know and I am finding I feel so uncomfortable when I do. Having said that, I was fasting yesterday and went into the supermarket and found Lindt special bars on special, and bought four. I haven't touched them yet though, how noble of me!!!
Yep, seriously different time zones bean. 6 hours between me and Tim and 8 bewteen you and me!!

I'm really missing doing ADF! This having a life is lovely, but I'd just got right into the swing of the EOD and felt great doing it. Roll on Monday.

No lunch out for me in the end; one daughter is ill so the other is going off on the meet up without us. Vegetable soup then, no bad thing
