Yep,
I think I have the same problem as you, plus I tend not to eat as much as I should I think. This morning I went for a huge cooked brekkie in the hope that this will deliver te right foods for me. I agree on the veggies, it doesn't help that the ones cooked here at camp aren't very nice either! I am starting to gag on undercooked brocolli!!

Good morning/afternoon everyone! @Julieathome how lovely to see you here! I guess you must be in your fast now? Makes you feel safer doesn't it. @Debs so glad you are sticking with us. I'm sure you must be on a temporary glitch. To make you feel better, yesterday I was 11:8 and today? 11:11! Crazy, eh? If my theory is right, I should be 11:9 tomorrow and then my weekly weigh-in will be 11:7. Oh Bean, are you kidding yourself?! A bean invariably has to live in hope

Anyway, you two sound like me with the water retention thing. I had a glass of wine yesterday and for some reason I always end up with an extra chin! Usually only temporarily. The biggest struggle I have is with cereal. I'll be watching tv when I suddenly get it into my mind that a bowl of X is desperately needed and I can't think of anything else until it's eaten. Yesterday I had not one but two bowls of Shreddies and Cheerios! I think once I've finished the Cheerios I won't get any more.

What about water pills? Has anyone tried them?

Anyway, have a good day everyone

Hi there @nursebean, a bowl of muesli in the evening is something I often crave, my hubby pines for Shreddies but you can't get the normal ones here, only the frosted ones. Normal ones are banned due to some Vit B they don't like, but covered in sugar is apparently ok?

I tried a different route today and had a large brekkie, which apart from a small accident with a coconut muffin and a couple of choccies, has carried me through the day and a small dinner so we shall see. I do feel bloated quite often but not sure if it is due to water retention or other issues

Welcome Julie :) I hope ADF works well for you.

I've tried diuretic pills in the past (20 years ago or more) but these days would rather chuck a heap of parsley in my dinner and been on some celery. Both are really good for the problem.

Given that I was washing chocolate cake down with champagne at the weekend, I can't complain that the scales are showing 12.4 today. I missed a few exercise sessions too. Anyway. I'm firmly back on the wagon this week. Hairy dieters meatloaf with tomato sauce for dinner. I've got some rocket, watercress and spinach salad to go with it, and the others will have new potatoes, carrots and peas with theirs.

I have had celery tablets which aren't too bad if you can't get celery or don't like parsley. Sounds like my kind of weekend Winsome, champers and choccy cake!
I'm not too hungry at the moment so might just have oatcakes and cheese for dinner.

Oh I didn't know that about parsley and celery @Winsome so may have to try adding them to my food intake. I do like the sound of the Hairy meatloaf though and may well add that to my list of meals to cook when I can!

@Debs? Didn't you use to go without anything for your fast days? D'you think that might have a role in the weight loss stagnation? If that's the word

I've had a great fast day today. The sun was out and it felt really quite warm out. I actually managed to walk the girls for 70 minutes which is a huge milestone for me! I've just eaten my vegetarian moussaka from M&S accompanied by six sprouts and some broccoli. It was delish and only came to 348 calories. I might have a pear later...who knows. What excitements, eh!

You know how to live it up @nursebean

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Carrot and coriander soup (Nigel Slater recipe) fresh bread (am going to try out a new recipe - no knead bread that you prove overnight) leftover meatloaf (she says hopefully) and Anjou pear cake... And that's just lunch!

Just sitting with my feet up for a while before fetching the littlies from Brownies. They are already tired from the first day back at school and Mondays are busy. Up at 06:30, start school at 08:30 (its a 20 minutes drive away) finish at 15:30 then netball club till 16:15. Change into Brownie uniform, dash home for dinner and out again by 5:20. Brownies 17:30-19:00, home for a snack, attempt some homework and bed at 20:30. Should be 20:00 but never works out that way

Wow! I'm not surprised they're tired...what a busy day!

I can tell you're really looking forward to tomorrow

Well blimey, that WAS a good fast yesterday!

Was 12.4.2, now 12.0.6  haven't seen that much loss after one fast in a very long time.
Re: The ADF Tent

Well done Winsome, that is excellent, you'll be overtaking me at this rate!! It must have been the carrot and corinader soup flushing you out!!
Re: The ADF Tent

@Debs I haven't had the soup yet, just a lick of the spoon when making it yesterday. I'm looking forward to it for lunch  The no-knead bread is looking good and the pear cake (sampled with breakfast!) was delicious

WARNING: TOO MUCH INFORMATION!

The only thing is that despite a good 7-8 hours sleep last night, I am SO tired today :sleepy: I'm seriously considering having a mid-morning snooze already! It's probably more due to the shock of getting up at 05:30 after a week of half-term lie ins than the fasting, to be fair.

Ha ha, yes, I am sure that is some of my problem, maybe I should drink more coffee as it often has that effect! Just need my three mugs of tea to get me going first!

Morning my fellow ADFers! And well done @Winsome that must have been such a lovely surprise for you! I'm pretty chuffed, too, because I am 3 lbs lighter than I was yesterday! I think I'm on track for my Easter goal...but it's going to be. VERY tight. I may have to take drastic action...don't know what though

Good luck if you're fasting today

Bean

Well done to you too @nursebean.

Don't you think that doing ADF is drastic enough?

I am determined to stick with the ADF, not get sucked into any variations and only allow deviation from the EOD if the occasions really warrant it. I've told hubby I'm giving it three months solid, dedicated trial. I don't believe you can really judge the success of a plan over just a few weeks.

Nearly afternoon all. Yesterdays fast went well. As usual I had under estimated the calories in my stir fry and was able to have some noodles with it as well. I woke up this morning and decided to have some cereal, which is Vvery unusual for me as I don't have breakfast normally. It may have been the big breakfast I had on Sunday morning in the hotel that has shifted me slightly.
Today is one of my sons housework days so he's making the food. I'm not sure whats for lunch, but dinner is beef steak burgers, with cheese topped bread rolls, chunky twice fried chips (fries) and probably a salad. Tomorrow, my next fast day is going to be something out of the hairy dieters cookbook for my other (younger) son to cook.

edit: After a debauched weekend that included more than a full bottle of wine one evening, my post fast weigh in was point 2 of a pound down on my last weigh in before the naughty weekend.
