Thank you bean, I hope so! Fasting today, first day back is always hard so. I have salad on hand, but once today is out of the way it hopefully will get a bit easier.
Going to register at the gym later so all heading in the right direction! Lots of room in my dongs to exercise too.

Hope it went/is OK Debs.

I wasn't fasting yesterday but even so, had a bit of an OTT day food wise. 1/2 bottle of wine, half a box of maltesers and some dark chocolate with raspberries, plus cheese, honey mustard cocktail sausages, white toast for breakfast :frown: That's what happens when I'm busy and mega tired. About all I can say is that lunch was veggie soup and dinner was mostly hairy dieters meatloaf, so not bad.

I'm half- fasting today. Going to a friend for supper with some other friends, should be fun but I've no idea what she's cooking. I've volunteered to drive as it is too far (45 mins each way) to taxi so at least I won't be drinking.

Evening all,
Start of another fasting experiment of low carb and lots of veggies. A good mix of salads so that makes a nice change and I have may just overloaded for my lunch tomorrow, but hey.
All you family feeling better Winsome?
Good luck Auriga, how frustrating for you.

Hi

I might be an ADF:er. Uhm, or an intermittent ADF:er? Not sure I can stick with any of the types of fasting so I might intermittently jump between them and of and on them, which is what I've done so far. Oh, well.

I did ADF february 10 to 27 (9 fasts), then visiting family followed by family visiting got in the way. Now I'm recovering from a cold and I think I will have another go at ADF until easter. Starting yesterday (march 18).

Does anyone happen to know if there is a picture thread on this forum for posting pictures of your fast day-meals?

Hello there and welcome! Quite a few of us mix things up a bit to fit in with whatever we're doing. Whatever works for you, flexibility is the key!
As far as piccies go, there is a foodies corner where people put up their fasting piccies. I will try and hunt down the link for you.

Good morning all, and welcome Kajsa

So my evening out / half fast was a mixed bag. Great evening, but the food was rich - cod with a thick layer of olives and sun-dried tomatoes on top - very tasty but very oily. Roast potatoes, and a salad that was very heavily coated in oily vinaigrette. Dessert was a home made meringue nest with whipped cream and chopped fruit, which was delicious. No bread, and I only drank water and a coffee.

I'm going to try and fast properly today, take it steady on Friday and then Saturday will be a splurge day as we have guests.

I would have thought @TBrewerton would be back off his work jollies by now. Come in Tim, the tent needs you!

Well done Auriga, I may join you one day! I had heaps of salad yesterday which wasn't too bad, and lots of water. I haven't been that hungry today, yoghurt, apple, chia seeds and flaxseeds for brekkie, a few nuts and a small amount of a nice aubergine and chickpea stew and chicken for lunch.
Finally accepted that I may have high blood pressure, a family legacy unfortunately. It isn't something I can control with weight loss as I'm not that over weight, but it seems to be an issue on the male side. Or I think it does, a stubborn line of males who never looked after themselves doesn't help. Looks like it may be BP meds for me.

Hello @Debs...that lunch sounds great. I have high blood pressure, I thought this WOE would cure it, but it doesn't completely...but down to a half tablet now so it's doing something.

Thank you for welcoming me!
I'm not to fond of detailed recipes, but it could be inspiring to see pictures of what others are eating and also post my own.

5:2 really helped me when I started to lose weight but I think maybe it was too flexible and maybe I felt I had to hold back on eating days too. I read dr. Krista Varadys book a few days ago and now I want to try to make sure I eat my full TDEE on eating days so that I'm truelly not on a diet half of the time - hopefully this will allow me to keep more muscle mass. So far I've lost the combination of fat and muscles that Krista wrote that normal everyday dieters lose (75% fat, 25% muscles).

Thanks Auriga and Winsome for welcoming me too

Auriga, I see in your signature that we started at the same time last year and have lost roughly the same since then. Although I was a bit heavier to start with than you, and I will hopefully see your starting weight on my scales soon. ;-)
