Luckily it's still dark outside, so I dont have to go to bed in daylight. But sun will be a hassle this early in mornings in a couple of months when summer comes. At least I can be glad that I don't live in the northest of sweden, they even have "midnight sun" because the sun never sets at all for a month!

I was in Iceland in June and arriced at 12.30am and the sun was just above the horizon! WHat I couldn't understand was that they had really poor curtains so I had trouble sleeping!

Evening all!
Just having yet another salad tonight on my fast day. Off to Newman tomorrow to go to the doctors and stock up on a few munchies, avocadoes, chia seeds, frozen berries to see me through the next couple of weeks. Still irritatingly bunged up! Plus quite tired from being up in the loo several times a night!
How is everyone doing?

@debs have you tried magnesium? It not only helps with constipation but can lower blood pressure by a little too. I'm using the "doctor's best" brand from Amazon. It has magnesium in a very bioavailable form and not too expensive. The magnesium plus strong coffee first thing keeps me regular! I think the coffee is important though because yesterday when I didn't have time for coffee before going out, I didn't "go" (sorry if tmi).

I take magnesium citrate at night. Strong coffee should work, and used to, but doesn't so much these days!!! Do you just take your magnesium at night?
Re: The ADF Tent

Yes, at night. What dose of elemental magnesium are you getting from your magnesium citrate? 500mg of magnesium citrate only gives you 80mg of actual magnesium but you should aim for about 400mg of magnesium and citrate doesn't have the highest bioavailability.

Two capsules gives 291.6mg which isn't enough is it? What is a better option than citrate?

Can you get this one?

Probably. Bit expensive to buy from the UK but I'll have a look for chelated magnesium here in Aus. And a double strong coffee tomorrow morning!!
Just tracked them down on an Aussie website thank you @carorees!

Good luck with the launch @Debs  How is it that strong coffee helps? Strange one that.

Morning all,
Strong coffee isn't helping, just gave me palpitations!!!

Having one of those days when fasting just isn't going to happen, I just had to eat nuts! Luckily I don't have too many with me today so I can try and resist to a certain extent. Still waiting for the big event  , took laxatives last night to help things along and have been eating heaps of fibre, but all to no avail. No wonder my weight has crept up again :starving:

Just read this back and realised it is one of those days when I can't type either!

Sorry to hear of your troubles, Debs. I've had that on and off with IF, though never as bad as when I did low carb a few years ago. Lately, I've had no troubles at all. I'm not sure what I'm doing different. I started taking a multivitamin. Maybe that's it??

Anyway… ADF has been doing wonders for me. I've lost 3kg in 2 weeks. Some of it was probably water weight after my trip, but still. Phew. I'm still 1.2kg up from my goal weight, but I think the combo of ADF with 16:8 on non-fast days is doing the trick.

Once I finally get to goal (or 1-2kg below for good measure), I might throw all my well-thought out maintenance plans out the window and give 16:8 a try every day instead. It's cutting out so many unnecessary calories (breakfast--which tended to be something stupid like a muffin--and evening snacking) for me. It will cut right back on my alcohol intake, too, once I'm drinking again. I can always throw in a proper fast when necessary...

That's good to hear Mary Ann, a good result. I am getting nowhere and am increasingly frustrated.
