I'm still ADFing. today was meant to be the last day, in preparation for race day on Saturday. But now I've injured myself. I won't be able to exercise for awhile, so maybe I should stay on ADF to prevent weight gain!

Does that mean you won't be able to race?

I'm planning to fast today but I'm not convinced it will be successful. Leaving aside the milky coffee DD1 just brought me in bed (I was up at 05:45 to take hubby to work but went back to bed!) hubs and I have some seriously hideously stressful family business stuff going on. I avoided alcohol but hit the chocolate and cheese pretty hard yesterday :dazed:

Good luck @nursebean and I'll cross my fingers :clover: :clover: :clover:

@maryann I missed the bit about you being injured. Off to check the runners thread!

@Debs keep hanging in there chickadee :clover:

That's no good winsome, I hope you get things sorted out soon and that the cheese and chocolate don't take too much of a battering. Try to eat mindfully and recognise that you are stress/comfort eating.

Thanks @Debs

I've managed to fast all day so that's good. Partly this was achieved because some other stuff came up to add to the headache... :frown:

Things are very bad on the family/business front. There is no way that hubby and I won't be having a glass of wine tonight, so I'm just going to consider today a successful half-fast and go and cook dinner!

I seem to have a pinched nerve in my hip. The pain shoots down my leg to my knee. It's hard to walk and impossible to run. The timing is very annoying.

Barring a miracle, I don't see myself walking normally by Sat much less running a marathon. At least with Aleve I could sleep last night!

Blast, hope you get fixed up quickly; I know how hard you have been training for this.

Yeah. It sucks. But right now I'm focusing on getting rid of the pain. It's actually already much better today than yesterday.

Morning ladies! I have come back here with yet another plan!! I have found some interesting things about my bodies reaction to low carb, none of them good, and now am going to act on it!!
I tried the days of very low carb, and by the third day experienced a massive sugar craving as a result, I suspect, of being deprived of carb producing sugars. It seems to happen every three days or so and is obviously a problem. I succumbed to the insidious sugar and started to read up on overcoming a sugar addiction which is when I realised the possible link with low carb.

So, a new experiment!!! ADF again, with lowish carb but incorporating some low GI carbs, oats etc. When I am allowed out to the shops on my RDO, I shall buy some low GI five grain mix and try and see if that helps with the cravings, as well as fullt fat yoghurt etc.

AND, I shall go sugar cold turkey for a few days, which will be hard, but I need to do it. Then they will really realise what a complete enviro b****h I really am!!!!!

Onwards and downwards!

hi @Debs, sounds like a good plan! These days, the only carbs I eat are low GI, like barley wraps, grainy bread and beans/lentils - and slowly cutting down the amounts too. Hope it helps with the sugar craving! cheers! Might fly over you on the way to singapore tomorrow night, I'll wave!!
