Progress Tracker graphs are fun and very encouraging. I usually weigh myself first thing in the morning of fast days and record weight and body fat once a week. I have only entered monthly data for last year but it clearly shows the peaks after a holiday and after Christmas. Am now also adding in waist measurement.

Glad you like the tracker, Nora
I'm wondering if I should look at making an addition to the tracker - side effects? Basically users could select which side effects they have/haven't experienced (eg, never, sometimes, always, used to be don't anymore...) since doing 5:2.

If you're doing side effects could you also do positive effects, especially blood chemistry results for those who can monitor them? Blood pressure, fasting glucose, cholesterol (total, LDL, HDL), triglycerides? These would be of great interest for those of us who need the health benefits!
Sounds like a lot of work though, Moogie, so I'm hesitant to suggest it really...

also I wonder if it would be good to be able to hoover on the chart line to read what exact weight we were at that date? Does that make sense? Xx
Moogie,
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This resource is truly AWESOME!!! I'm a stato at heart (accountant by trade!) and this really gets me going (sorry is that OTT?!)
Love it!

Hi, just logged my start weight but put it as Jan 2012 not 2013...doh. I don't suppose you can help me change this - it says I have to contact admin but couldn't see how to do that. Sorry to be a pain!
cheers

Sorry about the downtime folks, updates to the tracker are taking a bit longer than planned. Hope to be back up in the next half hour or so!
one thing that seems to interest people is whether you calorie restrict the rest of the week or not, is that something we could have a filter for? Or a poll, not sure how you could quantify it but thought I'd float the idea.
Someone else mentioned that on Facebook as I recall. If this starts getting too complicated it will be hard to know where to draw the line and as I'm only doing this in my spare time I don't know how much more I can realistically code into the tracker without it becoming too big a project. It's not impossible to add, but having spent most of my weekend working on additions my brain is not in a place to cope with thinking about any more at the moment.
...and yet, there my brain goes, starting to think about it! I guess we could have an option for calorie restriction in terms of percentages, eg no restriction, 10-20% restriction, 20-30% etc etc and allow for filtering by that.
In terms of side effects being logged I was thinking of some fairly simple stats where users can tick boxes as to whether they have experienced certain (positive or negative) side effects, eg 'never', 'initially', 'regularly', 'always' and then just chart what percentage of users have selected each option for each side effect.
Anyways, tracker is now live again with a better forum stats - calculated with means & medians and omitting erroneous data (within reason). I've also added frequency distribution charts (didn't know what they were until today, thanks dominic!). The frequency charts are displayed in KG as that's how everything is stored and calculated behind the scenes, and rather than throwing the data off too much by converting to lbs and rounding the figures etc I thought the charts had best stay metric.
Hopefully that'll do for now Don't really fancy doing any more this evening.

sorry, I realise that this is a bit like a mushroom and it might be too big an ask but I can see the group as a whole going down two separate paths and thought I'd float it.
Thank you!
Thank you!
No worries, I never mind people making suggestions just as long as people don't mind too much if I can't achieve them
I'm a real sucker for pleasing people though and I do enjoy a challenge, so that may be on the cards in the next couple of weeks!

Fantastic work Moogie, thanks so much, the overall stats are really impressive and powerful http://www.52fastdiet.co.uk/tracker.php?p=stats. For those of us who love data, or just like to know how well the 5:2 lifestyle is working, the new median data and the frequency distribution is amazing!
If anyone is puzzled by what they are seeing, please ask, I think I can explain what the figures are showing and why (for instance) the median is (for most groups) below the mean. If you are looking at what weight loss you might expect to see, the best guide is probably the median figure for your particular profile (BMI, fasting programme etc). However some people lose weight faster and some slower, as the frequency distributions show.
If there are sceptics out there who think 5:2 doesn't work, just look at these pretty charts, based on lots of hard data entered by all of us, and learn the truth!

Just one more addition would be useful and easy (I hope), could we have the actual number of people in each category displayed below the bar chart?
