Hello@nursebean, @CandiceMarie, it's good to hear from you both! My goodness where does the time go?? My Mama used to say when I got older time would just fly by, I thought she was wrong. :-) well, turns out Mama was right. :-) I get so involved in getting through my days, that I lose all track of what day it is. Sorry to be gone so long.
Beany, I'm so happy that you are feeling better!! As Candy says, be careful and continue to listen to your body, rest as needed. Glad you are happy with your slimming world diet, could be you aren't tolerating fasting well right now. What ever works, my friend. How did the weigh in go?
The Isle of Wight sounds wonderful, hope you can get there soon. Oh, and I'm jealous by the way. :-) I just hope we can sell this house for what we owe on it. :-) SOON. Although realistically it will be al least spring before we can get it on the market and that's if everything goes well. Trying to be realistic here.
Candy, I was going to ask how things were going post LDN but I guess you answered that already. I'm so sorry you are in a crash!!! These past couple of weeks have been so busy, I haven't tried meditating yet, must work on that. :-) sure hope you can feel better soon.
My energy levels are doing better, especially since I decreased my blood pressure med again. My biggest problem is the upper back pain, makes it really difficult to get anything done. I'm going to speak to my doc about a TENS unit to see if that will help. My grainfree eating seems to helping in the energy and general pain levels, just that one persistent problem area.
The heat is affecting us all pretty badly, so everything is progressing slowly, but progressing. :-) weight is stabilized and doing ok in that dept. so I'm a happy camper. :-)
Well, that was quite the monologue, hope you are both having a marvelous day!!! Love, Phyl

Hi@CandiceMarie, Hi@nursebean how are you my friends? I hope Candy you are doing better after your crash. Beany , hope you are still feeling good and enjoying your increased energies. How is the diet going?
I am doing o.k. I got my TENS unit the other day, still trying to find out if it is going to help. Moving the electrodes around and such. Deidre is doing ok. We will be very happy to see fall weather, but we are getting by.
Just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Love to both, Phyl

Hi MM @mountainmyst bean and i still losing on SW! I still on LDN ( hehe all these abbreviations) but not ordering more when i use up this last bottle..will see how i am without it...
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday, felt full of energy, felt life force flowing thru me! Had wonderful long walk round the park lake, fed the ducks..has vanished now but was nice for a while!
TENS..i tried one for a while when my sciatica was very bad..my thoughts were that it substituted one type of pain for another! The pain of the TENS diverted me from the sciatica pain!will be interested to hear what you find.
Yes me too, looking forward to fall, i love that autumnal feel in the air xxx

Hi@CandiceMarie, somehow I missed seeing your post. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write back. Good news on the weight loss!!! Good for you and Beany!!! I'm so happy you had a good day and some extra energy, even if fleeting. :-)
So far I haven't had much luck with the TENS, seems to make the pain worse. :-( but maybe I just haven't found the right positions, or it doesn't help with nerve pain. Still, it may help with the hubbies muscle spasms, so will hang on to it.
We just celebrated Deidre's birthday on the 28th. Made little cheesecakes and ate too many. :-) still maintaining the weight pretty well, Deidre isn't loosing as much as we would like, but I think she has some hormonal stuff happening which is interfering. Plus a bit of slowing of the thyroid. Working on that problem so we'll see. She is still feeling better without the grains, even though not losing tons.
I hope you and Beany have a great week. Love to both. Phyl

Sorry Phyl that the TENS machine didnt help..that was my experience too :frown: didnt really help at all
Hope it helps Hubby out x
Belated birthday wishes for Deidre! So glad she feels a bit better and i really hope the year ahead will be a good one for her x X x
Glad you thoroughly enjoyed those celebratory cupcakes! XX

Belated hugs to you both. Feel as though I've bean away an age! Not sure if I'm allowed on here anymore, now I'm a confirmed SW fan! 12 pounds gone so far and hopefully this week I'll make it to 1 stone! Still 2 stone to go but I definitely have more energy this way, which is just as well because we've had quite a few sales lately (and its nowhere near Christmas!) which keeps me busy
Sorry to hear the TENS didn't help you. Are you still avoiding wheat and carbs Phyl? How's that working?
Perhaps Deidre could try SW. I know they have them in the US and Canada now. You eat so healthily its amazing. I even have chocolate every night...and still lose!
Surprised to see you were fasting today Candy. How's it going?
Hope you're both ok. I think about you often, even if I'm not around.
Big marshmallows hugs
Bean xx

Hi@CandiceMarie, and @nursebean, how are you both? So glad to hear you are doing well with the sliming world plan. Beany, I think you are definetly allowed here. :-) all of us are looking for what works for us. Deidre and I are still doing grain free, it seems to agree with us. We don't have set fast days now, but we do have days that we naturally eat very little. So we are technically fasting. I think Deidre is losing slowly because she is taking some medicines that interfere with weight loss, but she is still happy with the results, even if slow.
I am doing ok. Maintaining around 125 lbs, which makes me really happy. My back pain has been much better this week, maybe giving up grains is going to help. Inflammatory illnesses take a long time to get better, and as with the M.E. Are unpredictable. Had a couple of really tired and weak days this week, for no apparent reason.:-(.
Candy, how are you doing? Been able to get out much lately? Beany glad you are feeling better eating more healthy. I, too, have chocolate most days, a little bit is good for you, even if only because you are treating yourself. :-)
Gotta run. I just realized it had been ages since I had checked in, and didn't want you all to think I had forgotten you. Love and big hugs, Phyl

Hiiii @mountainMyst! Just spotted that you posted the other day..sorry for delay in replying x
I think its marvellous if you can naturally fast without too much hooha!
Takes the stress out of it all...i find i can only do that occasionally..today was like that..fasting was effortless..i guess itswhen wecan keep our heads and / orhands busy so we forget our tums! for a whileat least..
Bean to the beach today...walking on the sand is a fave activity for me- feeding the birds, saying hello to all the dogs frolicking, listening to the sounds of the sea...i alwaysfeel a bit better when i connect to the earth either barefoot in a garden or on sand...
We have some sculptures on Crosby Beach by Anthony Gormley...called the Iron Men..100 of them...they are so atmospheric..they just stand looking out to sea with the tide going in / out round them.
( pic below)
Well done on maintaining at 125 Phyl.. :like: thats really good, and very well done D managing to lose despite medication..thats positive thinking in action :victory:
Sorry youve had some bad days tho..but its good that yr back pain has eased!
I am off the LDN completely and not noticing feeling any worse for not having it
Sadly it seems I' m not one of the fortunate ones who benefit from it...£250 down the drain but at least i know now not to throw any more good money after bad..
Bean & i still doing SW and still losing slowly (ish)... Having soneone weigh me each week is helping me keep on track.
Have a fab weekend Phyl & family xxx!

You can't beat a walk on a sandy beach, Candy! Especially with the birds and a couple of dogs by your side!
So how are you both?! Sorry its taken me so long to reply. Its amazing how you seem to blink these days and then 2 weeks has passed! Doesn't time just fly by!
Not much news here really. Still plodding along. Good days and bad.
Glad your back pain has reduced a bit Phyl and that Deidre is doing ok despite the annoying meds that get in the way. Its a shame about Candy's meds not working isn't it. I had such high hopes for her. We'll just have to look for the next thing (although in your case Phyl it sounds as though going grain-free has had a tremendously positive effect. That's just great!)
Well, I'd better go and see what today holds. Am meeting up with my so called "friend" today for lunch. I guess that'll make a change.
Hope you both have a good day!
Bean xxxx

Hi@CandiceMarie, @nursebean. Sorry I was gone so long. My neighbor died rather unexpectedly last week, and it has thrown me off. She was 87 and had always been healthy. Just the suddenness, and the feeling that maybe I should have seen a problem has left me a bit shaken.
Candy, I love the beach pictures, looks like a great place for a walk. So glad you felt up to taking one. Wish the LDN had helped, like Beany said, really had high hopes for you. But at least you can save the money and not spend it on something that isn't helpful. Really glad you are enjoying the S.W. Support. And getting on those scales weekly with supervision does add another dimension doesn't it? Keep up the great work and be proud of yourself!!
Hi Beany, know what you mean about time flying. I thought it was just a matter of my getting older, but am glad to hear it happens to you youngsters too. :-) I do believe the grainfree eating is helping me. Not a cure, but is sure helping a lot of my symptoms. I love it! Hope you had a good lunch out with your friend. It's good to get out a little and see the world outside.
Love and hugs to you both. Phyl

Hi@CandiceMarie,I am so sorry about your friend. It is a shock to lose someone so suddenly. I haved tried for days to write, but every time I sit down with my trusty tablet, I have at least one cat helping me type. It makes for an interesting conversation . :-)
I hope your week is off to a great start. Hugs, Phyl

Hi@CandiceMarie, I do love kitties. In fact, I think I'm in danger of becoming a crazy cat lady. :-) I am making progress with the backyard kitties that I have been trying to get friendly. So far I can cuddle 3 of them one is still pretty skittish. I am hoping to bring them. In the house before the weather gets too cold. That will have us with 6 cats ( see, crazy cat lady) and one dog. One of the cats that we thought was a girl isn't. Named him Crumpet, a bit feminine for a fella but hubby says" it doesn't matter, it's not like the schoolyard bullies are going to make fun of him" :-)
How are you doing? I'm off to a slow start this morning, it's rainy and I'm just being lazy. Hope your day is going well. love and hugs, Phyl

Bless you @mountainmyst for taking care of those kitties! X
So funny what hubby said about the school bullies!
Had a lovely early autumn/ late summer warm and sunny day
We went down to the riverfront, admired all the dogs and babies being walked, fed the birds and squirrels
Home now with feet up! XXX
