hi catscratch i too have a lot to lose , and look at this as going to be a life thing , I to have lost stones over my life time prob 3 people !!! but it just creeps back on really depressed about it really i have that dreaded apron thing lost all my weight was going to have a tummy tuck booked in but something happened in my life to really stree me and sugeon would not do it , so weight went back on , but good luck to you .
Elly thanks for posting. Are you doing the diet? How are things going? I don't let the apron thing worry me too much. Of course it'd be great if it all just sprung back into place but that's not going to happen. When I've lost a bit more weight I'm intending to do a bit of cardio to get the blood pumping to all those slouchy tissues and give it my best shot but if it turns out I need some nipping and tucking I'll deal with it then. For now my health has to take priority at 50 I think like MM that II'm still young enough for it to make real difference to my lifespan and quality of life. The cosmetic stuff is secondary really isn't it?
yes that is true , yes doing the diet this is my 5 th week and have lost a stone so far so pleased with that .Want to lose 4 stone really but maybe i should lose more but hey will see how it goes im 50 in august so thought i would try and lose it again . and by the way that was ment to be stress lol , i work nights so had to go off for a meeting so was rushing !! good luck anyway hopefully we can keep in touch
I've had quite a challenging week. A coach trip on Thursday when I forgot to take my lunch and so had to have a lunch of biscuits.
Then a meal out on Friday which I did make allowances for thro' the day, and managed to substitute a dessert for a cup of chamomile tea! Then yesterday we went out for a carvery and I had a treacle sponge and custard for afters.
Squinting at the scale this morning I have lost 4lbs!!!!!!!!!!
That's now 18lbs in 6 weeks. I'm so happy that it's working.

Just read this whole thred, you've done amazingly well! Very inspiring
Thanks Payday. I'm glad you enjoyed the thread. I'd love it if it helps to encourage others and helps a little to get people through sticky patches. Things have gone well so far but the proof of the pudding will be if I hit a plateau and can work my way through it. This WOE is totally different to any 'diet' I've ever been on and i think I'll be OK if I stick to my guns.
I love it that your husband gave you such a nice and symbolic bracelet that will keep on being a great reminder of how far you've come! That's such a beautiful gesture. You really are doing great.
well done catscratch great loss i to have done 19lb in 6 weeks cant believe it really , got a few things on this weekend so i am on my 3rd fast day today not done to bad i think im getting use to no eating lol . Well done you !
Thanks Emm, My husband is very supportive, he's lost 9lbs as well and my son has lost 7lbs so we are all very happy. The bracelet is great I very often find myself playing with it, it's a great reminder of what I've done and what I have to do. It won't be long until the first Venus is joined by a second.
And Elly I know what you mean about fast days sometimes they are really easy and others all I do is try to distract myself from thoughts of food. We are both doing great aren't we? Keep up the good work and keep in touch.

I love reading your journal. It gives me so much inspiration. Thank you for posting it.
Thanks Gaitless, that's a really nice thing to say. I'm glad you're enjoying it. How are you getting on?
I went to Pilates last night and I think I'm improving. The weight still gets in the way (literally) but I seem to be making better shapes and not struggling quite so much. The instructor is very good and is very insistent that we are correctly lined up which means there's a lot to think about - but I'm getting there. I even managed to do an exercise that I had found impossible before. She helped me by rolling up a mat to raise my hands a bit and I just managed 5 'lifts'. She said to practice at home and I'd be doing it easily in a couple of weeks. She's very good!!

Catscratch ~ It sounds your really starting to see some good results from your palates class. Keep up the good work!
I need to do some exercise that will help with my flexability. I've been thinking about yoga for that. I will have to modify some of the moves due to my RA, but it looks like something that would really help with the stiffness.
Good luck in your next class!

I think it's a case of use it or lose it, at my time of life. And while my body is still capable of responding reasonably well I'm going to push things along.
I've just eaten 3 Creme eggs and you know what? It's allowed!!!!!!
It is Easter!

I love this thread and I canny wait to read all about your adventure on the Harley. I see that you've lost quite some weight, congratulations!!!
Gaitless, IMO, Pilates is better than Yoga if you have RA but you must consult your doctor and then inform your instructor because there will probably be a few exercises that you won't be allowed to do.
Aaaaaah, if only I were in England with all the Cadbury and hot cross buns...
