"Good thing is if you fall off the wagon, you can just get back on. "

This is my favorite part about 5-2. So much less guilt

Hello Everyone!

Had my 2nd fast of the week today and it was/is a rough one. I still have a few hours to get thru before bedtime. I'm sitting at 650 calories right now as I gave in and had a Greek yogurt that put me over calories. As long as I stay under 800 calories, I count it as a fast. Tomorrow I'm going to try to stay around 1000 calories and then have a normal day on Friday. The scale is not moving much, so I think I need to lower my calories a bit more. I still eat too much on my normal days, I guess, so throwing in a couple 1000 calorie days might help. (Fingers crossed)

Hope you all are doing well!

New secret fast day weapon is La Croix sparkling water. No cals, no sodium and no artificial sweeteners. It is flavored with a 'natural' (natural essence oils from the fruit) essence and just softly sparking. No castoreum, phosphoric acid or added fluoride. My favorites are coconut, peach/pear and pamplemouse. I can now get through the day without anything else. I bought mine in Target but maybe cheaper elsewhere. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/08/magaz ... .html?_r=0

They are Whole30 approved if that is important to you. http://www.lacroixwater.com/

I drink a lot of sparkling water, but I get a local brand (Adirondack). Pamplemousse is one of my favorites because that's my favorite French food word LOL

Going to give it a try, Karen, on your recommendation. I've seen the pamplemousse in our local Stater Bros. market and am going to get some today. Will let you know. I've tried a few TJ's bottled flavored sparkling waters and they were surprisingly dreadful !!!!!

how is everyone doing? I'm still hanging in there, not loosing but SO THANKFUL that I'm not gaining. I ordered some dandelion tea as it's suppose to taste like coffee and detox the body and might help with weight loss. The weather has gotten better and I have been walking around 14000 steps a day just playing around in our woods. Hoping that helps as well. We have a great day everyone

Hi!

I'm still chugging along, not really losing, but not really gaining either. I've yet to get my weekends under control and those 2 days seem to undo all the good I do during the week. I'm hoping that once golf season starts, the losses will continue as I'll be much busier & more active on weekends when I'm walking the golf course.

I'm still doing boot camp sessions 3-4 times a week and waiting for the weather to improve so I can start going for a run/walk outside in the mornings as an alternative to boot camp.

Having a good fast day today, although it's 3:30 and I'm starting to get VERY hungry. I'm drinking some Deer Park sparkling water(watermelon/lime) and it is quite good. When I get home, I'll fix the husband his dinner and then make myself an omelet. This has become my standard fasting day dinner. If I'm too hungry before bed, I may have a TB of peanut butter. I know that's a lot of calories, but it doesn't seem to hurt me. Especially on a day when I've burned 400-600 calories doing boot camp!

Keep the faith!

I made the mistake of buying two boxes of girl scout cookies yesterday and my family is not doing enough to help get rid of them >.<

I have been doing well for the last couple of weeks. Got myself into a 16:8 routine and fasting EOD. My food comprises mostly of plants, lean protein and berries. Min 10k steps a day. Needed to take measures to rid myself of my 'US' weight.

I'm still here checking in trying to figure out how to get this stubborn weight off. I'm thinking maybe I need more exercise besides just walking and hiking. I'm thinking about adding in some of my aerobic dvd's again. My mother in law reminded me yesterday at how much exercise can help with weight loss. She has lost 10 pounds this month by just increasing her walking.. no diet change at all. So maybe if I keep up 5-2 and add my dvd's this could give my body the kick in the pants it needs? Once spring is here for real (not yet I just started the wood stove again) I'm hoping that being outside more will stop the need to snack all the time. I'm thinking maybe 5-2 with summer will help me loose these stubborn pounds? Time will tell.

I'm with you canoegal! This "winter that won't die" is depressing and isn't helping my weight loss efforts AT ALL!!! I do ok during the week, but come the weekend when it's cold and I'm stuck inside, all I want to do is eat and sit! When the weather breaks and I'm out playing golf, I'm hoping the pounds will start to drop. I still do boot camp 3-4 days a week and if I didn't have that, I'm sure I'd be a lot heavier.

We just need to hang in there until it finally warms up!

Well there's been quite a few days here where it's warm enough to walk outside - of course being a New Englander, anything above 36/38 is walking weather, at least until it hits 80. I like walking outside because we have so many hills near my house that I can easily get in the equivalent of 12 to 20 flights of stairs :-)

I'm in a much better groove right now. I have lost 5 of the 10 pounds I gained on my ridiculous eating binge that wouldn't end. Fingers crossed I can stay on track!

Yup, I was out walking when the temperature soared to 37F this week too. But oh that cold wind when I turned around to walk back!

I decided to convert my desk to a standing desk, mostly in the hope it m
Grab some breakfast at Salt Works II on Wrightsville Avenue. Then drive by the Mall/Forest Hills Area on your way downtown. Once you get downtown, park in the deck near Market/Front St. Take a horse drawn carriage ride around the Historic District and the use the Free Trolley to get up to the Cotton Exchange. Have some lunch at one of many eateries downtown.

After lunch head down Market Street and down Eastwood Rd to Wrightsville Beach. Park at the park and walk toward the beach. Get some Ice Cream or go into some surf shops, stroll down the beach a bit toward Johnnie Mercer's pier...then work your way back to the park.

Then drive over to Redix where you can pick up some Wilmington knick-knacks...and finish your day at one of the restaurants right there on the Intercoastal Waterway, preferable sitting outside if the weather is nice.

If you want something to do after that...check out the Thalian Hall productions downtown, or the Dead Crow Comedy Club or stroll Mayfaire and take in a movie.

You can take another day and head to Carolina Beach, be sure to get on the boardwalk and some Britt's donuts...use the Ferry to go over to Southport to see your family in Oak Island.

This will give you a feel for Wilmington...what it is, its features. There is more to see, more to do, but you will understand what Wilmington is about by doing what I posted above.
ight help my painful spine and neck. It has been about a week and I think it is strengthening my legs. Walking was a bit easier though after a couple hours of standing my legs and feet get sore. If it keeps helping I'll buy one of those adjustable desk thingies that go up and down.

Hi Everyone. I'm sorry to say but it is going to hit 90 deg here today. I think it will be short lived and can't quite believe I will be going home to freezing temperatures on Friday. So I'm getting it while I can

90 deg here today too - so we're off to Dana Point by the coast to cool off (supposed to be 82 !). Don't know if I'll be able to resist having a MaiTai :drink: at our favorite little place overlooking the harbor !!
