Welcome @somica. Lots of tips here. Suggest you post a new thread to introduce yourself to everyone. Start gently. Better to have your calories split over two meals if you can't manage until your main meal of the day when you first start. Salty drink helps if you are struggling, eg broth, bouillon. If you drink coffee carry on or you will get an headache.

Welcome @Somica! I'm upstate, in Saratoga Springs.

Hello, @Somica and welcome--What part of NY are you from? I'm also upstate, in Ithaca.

Hope you've done some reading in the various informational parts of this site so that you'll be well-prepared. It took me a while to hone down my fast day menus to protein and vegetables--more bang for the buck :smile:

Good luck! :clover: :clover:

I'm still here, trying to gain control on my weekends. From Thursday-Sunday I gain back anything I lost from Monday-Wednesday. It's nice not to be going up but I need to figure this out. I tried different things but it just didn't work. I'm thinking I may need to track my calories maybe on a Friday or Saturday even though I HATE doing that. But maybe just doing it once in those 4 days will help me stay in check. Also evening after 7 are so hard. I really want to snack at those times.

@MaryBeth I am in NYC.
Haven't met many people doing this WOE but then again I've decided not to really talk about it. With diets I always had / felt the need to disclose that Iwas on a diet due to restricting major good groups or eating special food. It was noticeable. On 5:2 it seems like I won't have to show anything - except weight loss ( hopefully!).
:-)

Yes, the diet industry has done a good job of trying to convince people that eating 6+ times a day is normal and healthy, and that anything less than that is anorexia. It's ridiculous. To have a diet that doesn't make money for someone is just so confusing to the American people. They don't know what to do with it!

Hello all!

Struggling to get back on plan after a 10 day vacation. I do ok on the fasting days, but the wheels came off yesterday! I'm really having a time with sugar as I ate a lot of sweet things in the past couple weeks. Taking it one day at a time and not beating myself up too badly. Fasting again today and going to try for day 3 on Friday.

Hope your week is going well!

How is everyone doing? I'm still working on controlling my non-fasting days but I think my fast days are going well. The weather has been nice so we have been outside a lot. Well have a great day everyone!

Hey!
Thanks for reactivating this thread! Just maintaining here, which isn't a bad thing I suppose. I, too, need to control my non-fasting days a bit better. Fasting days are not a problem.

Golf season is finally here and I've been a bit more active on the weekends, so hopefully that will reflect on the scale one of these days. :confused:

Check in U.S. people!

Checking in here from the West Coast too. Had a fairly good fast day yesterday. Decided to only fast one day a week for maintenance and see how it goes. @Lori, our weather has been a bit "iffy" but hubs and I are still getting out on the golf course most days.
