Wildmissus, that sounds like a plan! I too am thinking I shall do another 36hr fast, planning to give my marks and spencer ready meal to my partner and go for it! The most interesting side effect since Mondays fast is I don't seem to be craving sweet food which is highly unusual for me and something I've been trying to address since starting 5:2 although its always been an issue I guess! I have also found my partner and my mum, both very supportive of 5:2 fasting got all concerned about no food for 36hrs, I've told them both if they haven't watched the program they are not allowed to comment! Don't think anorexia is something I'm ever going to worry about suffering from, but interesting they associate this length of time with an eating disorder yet 24hr fasting completely acceptable.
Anyway, I shall be at work tomorrow so that'll keep me busy and will ensure I drink more to hopefully avoid the headache I had the day after my last fast.
Keep going everyone trying 36hrs today and I look forward to checking in tomorrow with how everyone is getting on. Incidentally this morning my scales were 2lbs up, but still 2lbs down from Mondays weigh in, looking forward to seeing Mondays weigh in final results!
So dinner time is over, coped well, kids are in bed and now time to relax and read some posts while sipping water. I can honestly say that I am not hungry and I wasn't bothered sitting with my family while they had their dinner. I am beginning to realise that's its all in the mind. I might go a step further and say that I am finding this 36 hr no food fast easier than the 500 fast because when I used to have my all calories at dinner , my mind / body was like ok food is available now , eat as much as you can so had to restrict myself and made sure I didn't overeat on fast day. However with the 36 hr no food fast I know from morning food is not allowed until tomorrow morning and my mind / body accepts it.
Hi all,
I will be joining you 36rs tomorrow also. I did my first 36 hour fast last Thursday and then again on Monday so I'm also going for a straight water fast (with the exception of coffee) tomorrow.
Yesterday wasn't great the food choices I made were poor so I don't think I really felt the benefit of Mondays fast. But today I ate much better and am looking forward to tomorrow's fast without fear.
The only hard time for me is around dinner time, but I also know it passes , keeping busy is the key.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow.
See you on the forum .

Cheers everyone
Wow, just checking in and can't believe how many people are now doing/ planning to do a whole day without food! Forget M Mosley, all hail Wildmisses!! (Only kidding Dr M in case you're lurking - you're still great, but a bit of a wimp compared to us 36 hour water fasters!)

I'm particularly interested to see that no one has suffered serious side effects and most are saying no food is easier than just a little food. I find that too. Why switch on the appetite?

I'm wishing everyone continued success and the great benefits I've experienced - great weight loss, energy, mental alertness, understanding hunger and all but disappearance of carb cravings. redhead x
Thank you redhead, it has gone a bit crazy but not all my doing. You have something to do with it as well. You are our woman of wisdom! Thanks for popping in and giving us advice.
I second that wildmissus.
I too was inspired by much of redheads experiences and it definitely spurred me on to try the no food fasts.

But kudos to u also for starting this inspiring thread.

Now lets all give each other a jolly good pat on the back (lol)
Yeh, thanks 'specially to Wildmissus and Redhead, but everyone else too :)
Mariposa, interesting that you say your sweet tooth disappeared after your 36 hours - that's my biggest challenge (wipes away Anzac biscuit crumbs while typing).
Morning everyone. So today's the day for many of us. My second 36 hour, zero calorie fast (my first was last week). My plan today, aside from working, is to get some chores and admin sorted, go to the gym at lunchtime then go for a evening walk when husband returns from work (our daughter will be asleep). I'll not be doing a complete water fast as I am having some black coffee now and will also have several cups of herb tea.

Who's with me?
Morning all...I'm in.

Feeling tired and a bit flat this morning, despite that I'm feeling positive as I've got plenty to keep me occupied.. Just having a glass of water at the moment and will be on the sweet fennel tea at work.
Good morning everyone, feeling light and full of energy after yesterday fast. Not hungry yet, might keep going until lunch time. How are you feeling this morning Roo? Good luck everyone doing the no food fast today, I know you can do it. Have fun on organising the holiday for next year wildmissus, imagine how great you will look on the holiday snaps.
Morning all

Well last food was at 7pm last night so I'm 14 hours into my fast. Busy day at work so hoping I'll be OK-think the danger zone will be dinner time this evening but I have a list of chores & a walk planned

Good luck to everyone :clover:
I'm in. This is my first 36 hour fast. Had my last food at 9pm last night and next at 9am tomorrow, or possibly later as I will be at work then.
Hoping to manage on water and black tea but I am making my OH the Hairy Dieters Chicken Jalfrezi for dinner tonight, so that if I can't manage the 36 hours, I will have something sensible to eat (rather than raiding the biscuit tin  )
I feel VERY positive about doing this, inspired by wildmissus and others, that I am sure that if you can do it then so can I.
Good Luck All :clover:
I have been so inspired by all of you that I decided to join in too. It is nighttime here and I have easily got through the day with water. I think it probably may be easier than having 500. though I have seriously distracted myself by rearranging loads of furniture in my house and having huge clear out. I know none of that would have happened if I hadn't been doing this.
Morning Ladies,
I'm with you all. Finished dinner last night at 6:30 and have had nothing since.
Can't survive without coffee though, had 1 this morning and will have another 2 today.
Feeling positive and in control.
In work till 2, then pick up kids from school.
Hard time will be 5-6 when family are eating, but we shall overcome

Good Luck Everyone
Hi All.
Totally inspired by this thread and have finished my first nearly 36 hour fast. I say nearly cos I cant manage without morning coffee, and cant drink it black, so had small amount of milk, and with one cup of instant miso soup that came to 74 calories. The other thing I mindlessly did was eat a hot chip!! . It was offered to me and I just put it in my mouth without a thought. Still got to 37 hours, lost 1.2 kg but will bounce back a bit tomorrow as usual.

Am planning to do one full 36 hour fast and a standard one with a 500 cal meal a week until I get to goal. Next time will eliminate coffee and drink green tea, will need to watch for coffee withdrawal headache.

Thanks to everyone for the inspiration and support
