Well done Juliewil10
Hi everyone!! Well this wasn't what I planned when I did the 42 hours water fast on Monday with you all but as you're all doing it again today I didn't want to feel left out!!!! I agree with the comments about no food being easier than the 500 cals allowance, I'm exactly the same. I also have had the whole "eating disorder" comments from sister/DH about the full water fast but have said to put it into perspective, I'm only actually cutting one meal and 500cals from my allowance aren't I??? It's funny how the word "fast" is acceptable with a little bit of food included yet is seen as the rocky road to anorexia when cutting down to nothing!!
I keep saying to myself that this wont be a regular thing but as I have found cutting all food out on a fast day easier than calorie counting up to 500 cals I'm not sure.....
I haven't weighed myself, didn't after Monday, am due to tomorrow but it's the dreaded PMT time so may well not intentionally upset myself by weighing all that retained water!!! Feel good, have run 10 miles and walked the dogs their 8 miles and now having a herbal tea in the sunshine  Will keep myself updated with all your news as the day progresses. See you soon! Xx
It's great to see everyone back for more and some new folk.

Sarah, I'm like you if everyone else was doing today then I definitely had to!!! At one point or another I've read most of the posts on this forum and it's fair to say that we all love our food. If people are looking for anorexics then they are looking at the wrong diet!

At work the boss normally has a roll with marmalade for tea break. Today, however he asked me to make him toast - so unfair. I managed....with my pathetic cup of fennel tea.

Just having a cup of butter mint tea for my lunch and my stomach really growling but I don' feel particularly hungry.
HE ASKED YOU TO MAKE HIM TOAST? What kind of a beast do you work for? TOAST! TOAST, on your fast day? My goodness, I think I would stick the head of anyone who asked me to make them TOAST on my fast day down the toilet.

Sorry about that, I now feel better for that rant, but, seriously TOAST! (The ONE thing I cannot resist is TOAST!)

Methinks I am just going to slope off to the kitchen do myself some, guess what? You got it, soup.......with TOAST!

Hello again Wildmissus!!! I blame you for this entirely!! I read through the subsequent posts following our Monday fast and then saw you succumb to a 2nd one of the week and thought, well, I've got to keep you company!! I can't believe your boss TOAST!!! Oh, started me off now!! Well done on coping so well with the smell!! I hope he knows your sacrifices for him!!!! Glad to hear you are coping well again today-think the whole mind over matter thing comes into play doesn't it? Wouldn't have thought on Monday that I could or would have done two this week!! Will keep on looking you up Wildmissus, hope the rest of the day goes well :like:
You are very brave, I don't think I could manage that. Good luck!
Hello fellow 36'ers!

I'm still going strong, water mainly and a mug of black coffee. Not hungry yet but missing the habit of eating, IYSWIM.

Worked all morning then went to the gym at lunch. Cardio exercise always suppresses my appetite but lifting weights always makes me ravenous so I stuck with running and stepper machine today.

Now working again before school pick up, after which my daughter should keep me busy until her bedtime (interestingly I'm never tempted by preparing her snacks and dinner). The big time for me will be tonight once she's in bed and before my husband returns from work. That's usually when I snack on something.

Will clock back in after her bedtime then :-)
Another one jumping on the wild wagon

I've got a good day for it with hubby away and the children eating early with a friend. Handily the meal that I planned for them will only serve them, so once I get that out of the way I should be OK. I already managed to resist very yummy looking homemade cakes at a craft centre this morning :like:

I've managed the 24hr fasts well enough, no negative effects from the very beginning. So I'm hopeful this will be OK as well. Can't do without my black coffee and green tea with lemon though, so I'm not claiming a 'water only' fast.

BTW, I'm another one who has just got into buttermint tea - how fabulous does the box smell when you open it?? Just gorgeous.

Good luck everyone who has a stab at this
Hi again Bssh, you're doing fab! I'm the same with my three children, their lunches/snacks are a breeze to prepare! I worried on Monday that dinnertime was going to be my biggest problem but made the family's dinner and even sat with them whilst they ate it so think its the thought of things that are worse than the reality. I've prepared what the family will eat tonight and am busy ironing at the mo so just drinking lots of water to keep me hydrated and loving being one of the 36ers again!! Take care
This is a stupid idea. How can anyone go without food for 36 hours.....yes that's right I am going to give it a go next Monday. I can see this thread getting very busy over the next few weeks. Good luck to everyone.
You go Andyblood!!! Let us know how you get on
Mid afternoon and I am finding it tough! I usually manage a normal 5:2 with 500 cals OK but perhaps because I know that I want to get round to tomorrow without, makes this seem difficult.
However, having looked at all the posts on this thread, which have re-inspired me, I am ignoring the rumbles in my tum and am going to sit outside in this lovely weather and get a few rays, whilst sipping black tea. Roll on Friday am!!
Hilaryjane, think you are right, when you have hunger pangs on a normal fast day, you know you only have to go a few more hours before you can eat something-this takes a bit more mental distraction/determination doesn't it!! I've been enjoying some sunshine with a lovely cuppa in between ironing heaps and heaps and heaps and....you get the picture! Am thinking of you-keep going, you know you can :victory:
Hey Wildmissus .... I know what you mean.... Can't not join in if everyone rise is ;)

I had a half fast in the end yesterday completely unintentionally (on plus side 1lb loss again today) and don't feel good today either so I am taking things easy ..... May or may not treat it as a fast depending on how I feel later - but only clear liquids going on so far today .....

Will definitely do it again next week tho..... And Good luck to all who are trying it today....
Well I'm over 22.5 hours now but struggling a bit
I was fine at work whilst I've been busy but been home since 4pm & done some chores but now I'm having to start making dinner for the OH :frown:
Think it will be a VERY early night for me

PS Where do you get butter mint tea & what make is i? I really like the sound of it!
