Have had a really good week, helped by this fabulous weather.
Walked our dog for three evenings after work (poor Jack doesn't know what hit him!) managed some gardening, and did two 36 hour fasts. Great result as I have lost 3.75 lbs!
Off to Brighton for the weekend, so I will have to not go too overboard with the ice creams on the front!
Have a good weekend everyone

Good morning everyone :-)

Yay is dress down Friday in work and I certainly have that Friday feeling :-)

Great to hear that you are feeling better this morning and good luck from all of us today hummingbird, not that you will need it.

Wow amazing stuff julianna & Hilaryjane! I bet both of you feel and dare as I look great :-)

imajen8tion - with a recommendation like that I be a fool not to go and see it. I look into tickets and try and see it soon.

roserobin59 - enjoy your weekend! Strange to think that its better weather here in the UK then in Melbourne.

And Hummingbird I had a look at that clip - I take it you in it somewhere? Looks like that was loads of fun...

Yesterday was an interesting fast day for me - I did a liquid only one as well, as I plan on having a fun weekend, picked up some new t-shirts, as it looks like it will be a lovely weekend :-)

Hi everyone. My weekly weigh in today and I'm very pleased to have lost a whole kilogram! :victory:

That's double my average, so I'm very pleased. I think adjusting my portion size on non-fast days has helped, plus the better weather makes me crave salad. It's must be that plus moving about more as we still had a meal out one night and fish and chips takeaway on another evening.

Well done Julianna and hilaryjane - that's an amazing loss. Glad you are feeling better Hummingbird and welcome to roserobin59. Since I work at home Legoman, it's dress down day for me every day

Meanwhile I need to take time off from working today to get on with baking for a certain soon-to-be 5 year old's party tomorrow. Chocolate cake, biscuits, buns and sausage rolls all to be made. I do love how 5:2 lets me do this!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh Legoman that made me laugh-- and it is SO true!
I've been excercising today i\at the shops- searching for a new quilt cover so I've done lots of mileage!
And i managed to buy a lovely new black bag as a treat for losing 10 percent of my weight.
Think of all the money saved by fasting 2 days a week!
I love reading everyone's daily doings from around the globe.
Thanks, Jubilant Juners.

Happy 7th June everyone!
MY EXAMS ARE OVER AND I'M FREE :D

Also I'd lost another pound today, haha, which probably won't stay off because I'm drinking last night/the next few days in celebration, and therefore will be eating everything in sight when hungover, but still! I haven't seen a '3' on the scales for ages! (I always look for the next number... if I'm 9st 5lbs I want to see a '4', for example)

Very jubilant indeed. Well done everyone for fasting and getting on with exercise-y things, I will hopefully be shredding later if my impending headache allows me... Luckily I did a lot of dancing last night which must have burned calories!

Well done Beth I meant to wish you all the best for your exams yesterday but I forgot, so glad you had fun and it must be nice exams are over, enjoy you have earns your fun and rest

Completed first 5 days of 16:8 with 2 extra 5:2 fasts. all done to shock my bod back into shedding as it has gone AWOL on the weight loss. New scales show no weight gained so I am stationary. Ho hum.

Maxy is crashed beside me snoring, hope to fit our walk tomorrow afternoon. Gym attended as well for exercise with extra walking now I am a stone lighter I am powering up those hills.

Have a nice weekend fellow Jubliants. first week of June down ;)

Evening Jubilant June'ers :)

Congratulations for finishing your exams Beth :D it's such a good feeling!! I've been invigilating exams for the first time this year and I really, really feel for the people sitting them. It's such a great feeling when they're over though.

My interview/meeting thing with the professors went really well *phew*... I was expecting a bit of a grilling but as soon as I sat down they both grinned at me and said that, from a report that I had to write them, it sounds like I'm doing great and they're really excited about my thesis and future papers etc and are really happy with my progress to date! So that's a nice start to the weekend :) I've just had a great ballet rehearsal too - we're learning Waltz of the Flowers from the Nutcracker at the moment. Such a beautiful piece of music :)

On the food front, I feel like I've had a bit of a break through today, in that for the first time in AGES I've stopped eating as soon as I've started feeling full! I'm hoping to get back into the habit of being ok with leaving food, no matter how much or how little. Just leave it. I used to be like that and was pretty tiny back in those days so hopefully getting back into that habit will do me the world of good.

I got an interesting book out of the library today called Pure, White and Deadly, which is about sugar being super bad for us. If you have 90mins to spare, I thought this lecture on sugar being terrible for our health and making us gain weight more than eating fat was really interesting:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM

I rarely manage to sit through 45mins of lecture in my own subject, so the fact that the lecturer in this clip kept me interested for 90mins goes to show how interesting it was... or maybe that I'm studying the wrong subject :p

Legoman - yep, I'm hiding in there somewhere :)

Hoping to get up and go for a run tomorrow morning, shin pain dependent :)

We're one week in now!! Well done everyone for your various successes over the week :D

I've had a very good week where I've managed to do some sport every day and I've eaten very well, and after a slight gain last week and no loss the week before I am pleased to say that I have lost 1kg700!!!
Keep at it everyone and have a good weekend!

Hi all Jub Juners,
Been to busy to post much recently, as I have been slaving away in the garden. The sun has been out for most of the past week and everything has finally started growing, flowering and blooming. I look a bit like a bag lady at this time of year as I hate to wear gardening gloves and just go for the earthy/grimy look. I do my best to scrub my nails before I go out anywhere nice, but am not so fastidious when it comes to just dashing off to the shops. Why do I bump into someone from my yoga class, who I don't know very well, she looking immaculate, beautifully dressed and made up and me looking as though I've just been dragged through a hedge backwards? Upon return home actually discover small twig in my hair and bits of grass on the back of my jeans  Comforting myself with the thought that at least there is less of me !! Anyway, keep up all the great work and exercise, everyone. I will be doing some of my version of the shred later, armed with a hoe and gardening fork!

Hey Hummingbird, in all fairness I feel a little sorry for invigilators, it must be very very boring to wander up and down for 2 and a half hours in the heat. The exam keeps me busy, at least!

I know what you mean about stopping when you're full, it does feel like such a breakthrough. I had it a while back and I was in shock haha, and the other day I went out for lunch absolutely starving and ordered a pizza and it was huge (the size of a chopping board. I know this because it was presented to me on one). I didn't even manage half of it and took the rest home! Felt very good.

Sounds like everyone is doing wonderfully :) I'm packing for my holiday today which I am very excited for. Came up with a game plan for trying to maintain my weight, thinking:

Swim 1hr every morning before breakfast
Stay away from white bread
Stick to 3 glasses of wine (or less) per day
Drink lots of water!
Practice TKD moves/patterns/self defence

Here's hoping it works :P My boyfriend's family like to feed me cheese and bread and wine so this is going to require some serious willpower!

Hi fellow jubilants
Maxy had a long walk this morning another doggie smellathon and madly marking his turf. Maxy a happy chappie. Got to the gym this afternoon as well.

Today a free day on 5:2 + 16:8 but back to the work of fasting Monday to Friday. Scales are getting kinder and have reached my goal waist measurement

All the bet to the gang for this next week

Hi Juners,

Can I join after June hasn't started so jubilantly for me? I was even afraid that I'd pack in the whole fasting business, but today I resumed fasting and gave myself a proper talking to, so here I am again (from May). Good to hear/read that you're all doing great. Thanks for all the inspiration, have a great 2nd week of June. josie50

Hi Josie50. Glad you listened to yourself and joined in.

June is going well. Now back on track. Finished antibiotics, feeling much better and getting more active. Weigh in day today. Lost another 2lb.

3 more lb loss will take me to my next goal of -2stone. Will I reach it before my birthday in 2 weeks time?? Who knows but something to work for??

Here's to a great June for us all.

Good evening everyone!
Sorry for the lack of posts this weekend – it was a busy weekend, now just relaxing after a good weekend.

Friday was a good day, ended up meeting a good friend and went on a pub crawl. Ended up, showing my dance moves off – not sure if you would have been proud of my dance skills hummingbird...

I had my usual training on Saturday, I really feel myself getting fitter, but my brain was not working right as I was hung over... It was a lovely sunny afternoon and ended up relaxing in the local common.

Had a mini food blow out today, but then read some posts on here and I went for a run – did 10km! I finished my weekend of with a lovely pub dinner. (Only after reading this post did I realise just how much I ate and drank this weekend.. Wonder what the scales will read in the morning).

Keep the faith Josie50 – watch this you tube click - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEHQ9tzJpYA – And it’s good to hear from you again :-) and good luck for the week ahead.

Great loss Lesley54 and Nicky_94 and well done gillymary on reaching your goal waist measurement– very motivational!

I did have a little giggle at your post dhana... If you ask me the twig adds character!

Congrats BethP, freedom!

Oh interesting post Hummingbird, I will watch that link, when i get time, but I have a very sweet tooth, so it might really hit home on you. I knew that you be in that video. You are all really good dancers, Before I watched I thought you be wearing a 5:2 T-shirt.. (No idea why). I am glad your run went well, love running in the morning sun :-)

So, No_More_Mrs_Michelin.. How did the lego cake go down.. any spare blocks for me?
I love reading how you are all getting on! Keep up the great work!
