Thank goodness I can read about all your lovely walks because it is still cold & drab here. We are having a late spring, even the daffodils are struggling! I have started taking a lunchtime walk around the three floors of our campus. It includes stairs in 3 or 4 places & takes 20 minutes. I feel so much better on the days I walk somewhere. My treadmill is also good, but the scenery is the concrete wall in the basement, thank goodness for music!

Sounds lovely @sue.Q lanes,farms,fields,lunch,shops..

@CandiceMarie Yes daisy's and fields full of dandelions. Lol lits of rape seed having burst through with the change in weather, especially lovely watching and observing the different varieties of birds,
Tomorrow's walk I'll hopefully do a longer walk and do the walk through the woods to see the llamas grazing
this site always amazes me for some reason.

@sue.Q ( rubs eyes) Did you say l...l...llamas grazing!
Ive led a very sheltered life and just a simple city girl, barely seen a cow..you mean llamas live in the woods rather than in a - zoo...or on a llama farm ?

I did a double take at the llamas grazing in the forest. We do see llamas grazing in paddocks here but for some reason I didn't expect it in the UK. I always thought SueQ was in the US, but clearly not. I didn't walk today, although I guess it isn't too late: 20 past 4pm. We have had a big drive home. OH didn't want to give me time to walk in Hobart this morning. However now I'm home, it's hard to go out. The sun is over the yard arm, the fire is lit, the book is beckoning, the earl grey tea is just right. I have had a big few days of eating a lot: Kathmandu cuisine, Italian cuisine and then we bought a picnic to have on the way home:pickled octopus, ham, crusty rolls, a selection of stuffed green olives, salad. Sitting by a lake. I promise if you let me off tonight, I'll walk tomorrow.
Popping in to say hello and catch up on your walking posts. It's hard for me to be as 'mindful' as I'd like about walking during the week as I work full time, am on the go-go-go and focused on work.
It's time to give myself a good talking to and make some changes, reading your posts is inspiring me and my wellbeing, thanks to all!

Good morning everyone, just back from my walk. Same walk as yesterday, out of the village and then back along the riverside, it took me a little under an hour today so next time I'll add a bit extra as I want to keep it at an hour or more. After not sleeping well last night (or the night before) I really didn't want to go this morning, my head was trying to take over saying 'you can go this afternoon, you'll fit it in', then I remembered I'd told you all I was going this AM so on went the trainers. The best thing for me about walking outside is that when I'm about half way I really want to stop but I can't, there's only one way home at that point. If I was on a treadmill I would stop after about 20minutes. I'm not going for a walk tomorrow, my daughter is off school so we're going to be working in the garden, loads needs doing as I haven't touched it in so long. Being out and about seeing all the veg patches really makes me want to start up my veg patch again. I wasn't going to do one this year as I'm moving in a few months but I think I could grow some lettuce and other fast growing things. @Sallyo the picnic sounded lovely, nice and healthy too. Come on @Lizbean think about where you can fit it in to your day and commit to it, you'll feel so good when you've done it. I find telling everyone on here the day before is making me do it, the last 2 days if I hadn't said it on here I wouldn't have gone, I didn't feel like it at the time but was please I did after. I'm just waffling now so I'm going to go.
Have a nice day everyone and enjoy your walks

You are an inspiration @justdee. Thank you! You are so right about doing it first thing. I make exactly those excuses and the the day gets away and no walks have happened. I'll log in tomorrow after my walk.
Hello fellow walkers - just catching up on your posts.
Well done everyone - it's great reading your posts as it make me go and do my walk so many thanks for the inspiration
I managed my 30 minute walk yesterday evening and then popped out for 20 minutes today in my lunchbreak (nothing exciting to report from round where I work - North Acton / Park Royal is quite industrial - but the sun was shining and it was lovely and warm .
Am going to go for another 30 minute walk tonight when I get home - I live in West London (Ruislip) - we do have some park areas, a duck pond and a lido locally so I am going to figure outa more scenic route for myself!
Hope you are all having a wonderful day - keep moving and together we'll walk ourselves slimmer, fitter and healthier (and we'll also have lovely glowing complexions!)

Lol @Sallyo Yes I'm in UK so lots of lovely green fields to choose from and plenty of muddy/mucky farmyards to somehow wade through, I can understand you not wanting to go for a walk in the evening I used to be the same when working it takes a lot of motivation to get out again and needless to say I didn't!!
Did my walk today 5 miles/8km got home before the rain arrived and now my fastday has just got scuppered as OH wants to go out for evening meal and I never say no,
Life's to short at my age will choose a healthy option and will offer to drive so only one small glass of wine every little helps so only 2 fasts for me with tomorrow.
enjoy your meal @sue.q , you probably walked most of it off anyway. I wish I was coming with you, my dinner was a big let down. I had prawn & veg curry with cabbage, I normally love it but it just wasn't the same without all the carby trimmings. I was trying to change it up a bit as I always have salad with chicken or an omelet but think I'll just stick with what I know I'll enjoy in future. At least I've still got 200cals left in case I want something else later.
Thanks @justdee Yeh, come on Lizbean! I can hear the walking tent chanting me on That's exactly what I needed. I'll come back and report my positive progress. Less work, more me walking - during the week, he, he
