@nursebean well done on completing the course
So nice youve made some new friends thru it..good to have their support
What did you think of CBT?
I must admit i don't think its that effective for peeps with physical illnesses
As a trained counsellor,i used to use it with clients who had phobias..agoraphobia and so on..
It can be useful, but mind over matter doesnt really work on chronic physical symptoms..IMHO anyways
Fingers crossed BeanieBobs for good news in the post for you..i am singing Please Mr Postman..and can you believe it,the song has just come on the radio! Synchronicity! X
Maybe its a sign from the Universe that good news is coming...x :like:

Thats spooky @Candicemarie spooky!

Yes, that funny you should say that. Years ago I had a terrible phobia of spiders...and living on my own that proved to be a nightmare! My boss at the time was extremely generous (I think he was fed up with me being late for work due to spider "encounters') and paid for me to have 6 sessions with a counsellor who used CBT. Well, it worked! I still don't really know how he did it but I can now (not 100% calmly mind you) put a glass over a large spider and take him/her outside. It is a miracle of modern science! But as you say, with regard to chronic illness I think it is extremely difficult to use.

The tips on pacing make sense but, again, its just not always possible to follow the rule that easily. I think as long as I don't do anything for too long and incorporate rests (not sleep) into my day, I should stay on an even keel...she says hopefully!

Not sure whether my recent benefits raise (apparently I'm now in the support group) has arisen because of my assessment. Only time will tell I guess. Fingees crossed!

Blimey, its cold today isn't it

Well @Debs that all depends on what I'm eating...so on a fast day I'll have both...plus a Rose!

Sympathies @Candicemarie yes, I know what you mean about trying to rest your arms...they just get in the way don't they! D'you think today is the after effects of something? Have you done too much lately?

Well, tomorrow is Bean's birthday so we both are going to be CFS free...that's the rules ;-)

Take care

Bean happy birthday to yooo

Sorry to realize from your posts here it is so difficult for you guys, systems don't respect people. I had to take on a tribunal and it's upper level tribunal counterpart for my brother who has a disability. He was patronised by the first board and the shameful thing was the eye rolling, like to our faces, my brother didn't take offence but I certainly did on his behalf. That got me fired up and I decided the system wasn't going to get away with that disgraceful ignorance really and kept on following their appeal processes. We sorted it out with representation from a welfare rights solicitor and what was the stupid thing every thing they actually needed was already on my brothers file but we had to present it all t them again, grrrr. It is shameful, patronising and unfair but you need energy and your wits about you so it must be so testing with brain fog, pain and no energy and paying for your exertion for days dealing with systems. My  goes out to you.

Hello my fast friends! I'm so sorry that I've been gone for so long. life has rather run me over of late. Bean, I'm sorry I missed your birthday. hope this next year is full of love and healing! CandiceMare, hope you are feeling much better too.

I've had a few weeks of chaos around here. first the plumbing packed up and it took ages to get it fixed. then I started having a LOT of pain in my ribs that are the result of a couple of falls. I have had to go to physical therapy for the past 3 weeks, expensive and tiring. I find that the more physical exertion, the less I can do mental exertion. I also had a visit to the dermatologist, had 4 biopsies and have a big old bandaid on my nose and cheek. oh, my I look just loverly.

I sure hope today has been a good you for you all. sending you a big gentle hug. Phyllis
