I think carorees only did one at a time - started on 5:2 then moved to 16:8 where she continued to lose weight. So she was a strictly 16:8 faster who lost weight from a given point in time. Btw I think Ballerina may have been the initial 16:8 guru, so perhaps look for the discussion threads she star...

Hi again lindalove Here is the link to carorees story https://www.fastday.com/success-stories/carolines-story/amp/ If you look at the SUCCESS link near the top of the page, there may be some other 16:8 stories. There was also a very active 16:8 discussion thread that may be useful.. I will see if I ...

Hi lindalove Thanks for that update. I hear your frustration... Carorees is one of our members who lost and maintained using 16:8, though she started with 5:2. Her story is in the relevant discussion topic. There were others as well, can't quite remember who. Barbarita I think, and I believe she now...

Welcome CBWondra! I'm sorry to hear about your diabetes diagnosis. Yes, carbs are the key. My endocrinologist is a big fan of "Low Carb High Fat" diet plans - and he's also a very big fan of intermittent fasting. He thinks they're perfect together. I had gestational diabetes and so I'm at ...

Thanks Carorees ! If I run into any trouble, I will look that up :-) I don't doubt that my diet years ago was, at the very least, not helping things at all. My problem was that I had Graves' Disease, which is basically hyperthyroidism. After years of struggling with it, they finally irradiated my th...

So I definitely way overindulged in NYC (as per plan LOL) and so Bruce and I got back on the straight and narrow on Saturday, limiting ourselves to roughly 20g/day. I must have gone into ketosis last night because I've basically been a pee machine all day. I'm thinking of staying strict until Friday...

Oops, I missed this thread. I joined mid Feb and cannot believe my way of eating and life has changed so dramatically. I still fast, though not 5:2 religiously but know it's ok to miss a meal. It's also ok to eat butter, fat and goodies now, just not all the time, mostly thanks to carorees with her ...

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me posting this but researchers at the University of Leeds are conducting a survey to examine associations with lifestyle behaviours such as those used for weight management and need men and women aged 18 - 65 years to take part. The survey takes no more than 15 minute...

Returning to 5:2 after nearly four years, (painful foot problem resulting in long recuperation after major foot reconstruction), I read this thread with great interest. Not wanting to develop diabetes like my Mother, towards the end of last year I read Dr. MM's BSD book with forward by Newcastle res...

Hi MaryAnn I have noticed that it is about 3 years since a number of us first reached goal. Congrats to you and all of us! A number of maintainers do use eating windows - eg Barbarita, carorees, Margotsylvia (sometimes?) and I understand they combine this with low carb, rather than fast days. But I ...

Glad it helped :) I think the article you mentioned must be one on the Ways of Eating site, it doesn't ring a bell as one we have here at FastDay... unless it was a forum topic I've not seen? Defo nothing lost in the move as I copied everything from the old server and restored it on the new one. Ma...
