No 23 and this week was SIL's wedding so I put on 1/2 lb. I have decided that as long as I am 190 lb by the end of this challenge then I can cope with that. I wore a size 16 dress to the wedding and that was a goal when I first started 5:2.
No 12 checking in following a fab wedding on Thursday, 2lb gain, even though I fasted Monday and Wednesday and steered away from all carbs at the wedding breakfast apart from 4 glasses of champagne, 3 glasses of white wine and two gin and tonics, hiccup!

So I'm 0.6lb above the weight when starting this challenge.

4 weeks left to lose 4lbs and reach final goal. Damned determined to do this, whether my body will play ball is another thing. Anyone else chasing those illusive last lbs? To kick start, I'm fasting today as well as Monday and Thursday next week :victory: :victory: Good luck everyone.
Number 46 checking in with a 3.1 lb. loss (of a planned 10 lb. goal). Doesn't look like I'll make it but will keep trying for now. Not ready to start maintaining yet; want a "buffer zone" ..so keeping on keeping on
Checking in with a disappointing loss of only 14oz! So back to me slowly going down despite averaging 1200 calories daily, including fast days, & lots of exercise. I am eating with a vengeance today in the hope my body won't think its in survival mode & my next fast day will get things moving
Number 2 checking in with a loss and a new low, at last. Long may it continue :)

Challenge start weight: 168.4 lbs
28th of june: 169.4 lbs +1 lb
5th of july: 169.6 lbs + 0.2 lb
2nd of Aug: 168.4 lbs -1.2 lb
9th of Aug: 168.8 lbs +0.4
15th of Aug: 169 lbs +0.2
22nd of Aug: 167.6lbs -1.4 lb
Since the start: -0.8 lb, at last it's a minus :)

Not going to make my challenge goal but still time to lose a bit more.
No 30 checking in and not happy. After 7 weeks off fasting and a gain of nearly 5lbs started off well last week with fasts on Monday and Wednesday and trying to eat very carefully rest of the week. Didn't think I had been particularly bad over the weekend either. At weigh in this morning I was exactly the same as last Monday. What makes it more annoying is that my BH who fasts too had lost nearly 2lbs and he definitely ate more than me at the weekend. Oh well I will keep trying but I could have done with a bit of a reward!
#20 popping in to admit to a 2lb gain this week. Totally expected....as it was my birthday this week, and there has been an awful lot of socialising going on!

Since I am the same weight now as when I started the challenge back in June....I am very clearly not going to get anywhere near my goal of a 14lb (!) loss.....but here's the thing.....I am totally cool with that. My children have another week and two (respectively) left of their school holidays...and I really feel that my life will return to normal after that. For numerous reasons, my exercise schedule has gone completely out of the window, but I am looking forward to getting back into it once school is back!

In a funny way, it's almost as if I have been in maintenance over the summer, so with that in mind, I don't think I've done too badly. I'm conscious that I need to get going again in earnest so that when my Fastiversary rolls around in late November, I will have a good tale to tell....but already I have enjoyed significant weight loss coupled with real eating of enjoyable food......so I feel like I have won the lottery right now!!

Best of luck to you all.....however you are doing xx

@Hazelnut20 - Happy Birthday to you  I hope you have had a wonderful time. And I'm also cool not losing my 3.4lbs challenge. I wondering if losing is easier in the autumn/winter? Let's see, meanwhile maintaining is a good place to be :like: :clover:  :victory:
@Hazelnut20Hope your birthday was wonderful, and the next year full of appreciation for your delightful self!

@Lizbean, I have been wondering if the cold weather might help, too. I notice I'm never cold while fasting in the summer. Well, it is only another month or so until we will have to start running the heat due to nightly frosts.

#25 checking in. Just celebrated my 6 month fastiversary!

I'm down .2 lbs, according to the Libra weight trend for the week, and down 2.3 lbs since the challenge began. Probably will only get to under 3lbs for the three months, not 5, but 1 lb a month is about what I could lose the last time I weighed what I weigh now. Last time I was counting calories every day, with a 1450 a day ration, and keeping carbs extremely low. This time I'm enjoying my food.

Weight loss has definitely slowed to a crawl, though I havent missed fasts and am not going crazy on feed days. My TDEE seems to have dropped more than predicted with weight loss, but this is what happens to most people after 3 or 4 months on any diet.

I've decided if this is maintenance, I'll maintain, as I have no wish to ever again diet more than 2 days a week. My highest weight days are now 2.2lbs below my original goal. And I will keep on fasting two days a week for the foreseeable future.
Thanks girls @lizbean & @peebles - I had a lovely birthday, quite low-key because when you get to my age, ha ha, you don't tend to make so much of a deal of it, but nonetheless, it was really enjoyable. The best part of the day was when I asked my 21 year-old autistic son how old he thought I was:
"You're not 31" came his reply........please note: he often inserts a negative in his answers, whether they need them or not!! But hey - I'm taking it and claiming it as my own...since he is a whole 21 years out!! Lovely boy........very diplomatic!!

Challenger 38 checking in. Weighed myself yesterday morning , couldn't get my silly iPad to work last night to input! Start weight 88.5 kg (195 lbs) weight yesterday 81.5kg (179.6 lbs)so a loss altogether so far of 7kg (15.4 lbs) really happy with the loss, means I have met my challenge and possibly might make a little more before the great dress hunt for my sons wedding!! Have been trying hard both with food consumed, eating clean and fresh, and increased exercise. Went to friends at the weekend and was given a plate of Indian food nibbles, Garlic bread and crisps for our " dinner" , not their fault they didn't realise we hadn't had a meal, had the most awful tummy wind and cramps so I guess it was my bodies way of saying " I no like that! " haha . Good luck everyone whatever your goal is we are in it together x
@DoodlePuppet congratulations, that is an amazing achievement, well done. :like: When is the  happy day?

@peebles congratulations on your six month anniversary. I'm with you, if this is maintenance I'm very happy as it is sustainable for me and that is our ultimate goal, if I lose those final few lbs through fasting twice a week, well that's an added bonus.

@Hazelnut20 happy 31st!  I'm now counting backwards each year

Good luck challengers :clover:
@Brand-ie, you are flying it! Well done on the size 16. Hope you enjoyed the wedding and hopefully the 1/2lb is just water or hormones.
@Lizbean, I am like you. So close to goal, then there is an event or a meal or travelling and goal is snatched away again. sounds like you had a good wedding though. I like the menu!
@Judithn, I am aiming for 140lbs too for the same reason; the buffer to allow for life!
@Isis, hopefully the cal increase today will help. Drink lots, as it may be water retention.
Anyone see @justdee? She is fading away to nothing! congrats on the new low.
Oh poor @langstane. I hate those weeks that you work so hard and dont see results. Its taken me a while to realise ovulation makes me retain water. I expected a gain the week of my period, but not mid cycle. The other thing to allow for is muscles if you have increased exercise. Have you measured your bits? Sometimes the tape measure can show results when the scales dont.
@Hazelnut20, sounds like you have had an enjoyable summer. While you havent had the loss you hoped for, I reckon that without this WOE you would have gained, so in a way you have lost more than 2lbs!

And now for my confession time! I am just back from a lovely week in Wales. There were fish and chip suppers, ice creams, wines, beers and absolutely no fasting or 16:8 eating windows. I did a fast while travelling yesterday and weighed in this morning, although Mondays is my usual weigh in morning. So, I have put on about 2lbs when I compare myself to a post fast weight check before I left. Not an outrageous gain, considering. But, I am still about 1.5lbs away from goal, as I have been since mid July. The same 2lbs seem to be going on and off for weeks!
But, all my hols and visiting are over now. Kids are back at school next Monday, so I am going to renew my efforts and start a 30 day challenge for September. It will be difficult to know if I will actually succeed with this challenge. It seems so close but so far.
Thanks @lizbean, his happy day is the 3rd of October so jot long now! Bride to be getting very excited, son is nonchalant but does keep bringing up the topic so I think is getting excited himself, they are young and happy and in love !
@DoodlePuppet ah, young love  3 October gives you a bit wiggle room. I recall seeing a thread earlier this year which focused on special occasions. I'll see if I can find it as there are quite a few weddings on the horizon and good conversations to share.

@scubachick - glad to hear you had a fab time - that's a pretty good outcome and if other experiences are to go by you'll lose the 2lbs with a few good fasts. Good luck with your 30 day challenge, I'd join you but my exercise is built around dodgy arthritic knee. So with you in spirit if not in person. :like: Yep, I've been on the 2lbs seesaw since July, might even be June! I wonder if there are stats that show how long it takes people like us to shift the final two 2lbs! Of course I'm very happy where I am but I know that extra 2lbs will assist my arthritis no end and provide the sustainable buffer I need. I'm back to work next week after 2 weeks leave - it's going to be FULL ON perhaps that will invoke some movement. A change is as good as a rest :?: Perhaps it's time for a 'seesaw thread' for those chasing the pesky few lbs ahead of maintaining .................
