Bsst
I will do another 36 hour fast next Thursday with you. I'm saving my 5:2 for Tuesday!
Fantastic hilary. I'll be doing a mini fast (to atone for the inevitable gluttony of weekends) - no food until evening but then whatever I want to eat (within reason) then a 36er on Thursday. See you then!

Any more Thursday fasters? Redhead what about you :-)
Well done to everyone who's made it :like:

Well I didn't make it into a 500 cal fast day today but I did last 43 hours so I'm pretty pleased with that. I've been for a 4 mile walk this morning & then I've been busy digging in the garden but we had a short shower so I came in & I realised when I stopped I really was hungry so I made a very yummy egg sandwich-& never has one tasted so good
Well done bssh that's fantastic achievement, you must feel amazing.

Congrats also wildmissus on your 3lbs loss. I was very similar to you in that I stayed the same weight for the past 4 weeks (although admittedly over Easter I had a week off) still I was chuffed to see a 2lbs weight loss this morning.

So for the foreseeable future I'm gonna stick with Monday and Thursday no food fasts.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone
It's amazing how good I feel after a fast!! :drink: I did the 36 hours yesterday with very little problem - got a little hungry in the afternoon, but persevered and in a couple of hours, the hunger disappeared. I slept well, but did wake up an hour early. Was thinking about going on to 48 hours since I was not hungry this morning, but decided to stick with 36 for a few more times. Am going on a cruise next week and will not do any fast days. Congrats to everybody who successfully did the 36 hour fast yesterday! :star: :star: :star:

Yes, I'm up for that! Will probably do one on Monday or Tuesday and will def do next Thursday then as well with everyone.

I've currently got that crazy 'elation' feeling. Must be a delayed reaction from my Tuesday/ Wednesday fast this week coupled with the Friday feeling. Just took some stairs two at a time. Nuts. I haven't done that since I was about 14. Thank god no one saw me, they'd have thought I'd completely lost it as it is sooo not on keeping with my work persona!
I probably will do a 36er on Monday, I'll see how I feel nearer the time.

The following weekend I'm going to stay with my friend which involves a flight. I fly down on the Fri morning and come back on Tuesday morning, so I'll probably do a 500 cal on Thursday. Although I don't mind flying at all I do get nervy about being in the right place at the right time. I don't want to end up in Birmingham, Alabama instead of Birmingham, England  When I feel nervy my digestive system complains - I'm sure you know what I mean  I'll probably fast on the Tuesday I'm coming back though.
Fantastic achievement by everyone - "didn't we do well" !!! Weigh day for me tomorrow,Saturday, at which point I'll decide whether to join you guys next Monday and Thursday. I was definitely light headed this morning. Broke my fast with a banana and tea - after about an hour, and quite a bit of water, I felt totally fine again. If this has boosted my weight loss as it has Bssh, Wildmissus and others then I'm definitely up for it again next week.
Felt fine all day today but went shopping for some new clothes and have come home exhausted! Not unusual after a long shop but am now feeling pretty cold despite the sunshine!

Still, it hadn't put me off and I may consider another 36er next Thursday :)
 Moogie - was that jeans shopping - hope so - hope you found what you wanted - maybe you updated the other thread - I'll just go look !
I surprised myself and made it the full 36 hrs, actually 37, but who's counting. ;) The late evening as usual for me was the most difficult part, but I managed to make it through without any real problem.

This morning I woke up early (seems to be a common theme) I wasn't real hungry and did some chores before realizing I didn't really have much of anything to break my fast. So I ate a couple of oranges and went grocery shopping. I amazed myself by not loading the cart with endless supplies of junk food, and actually did a sensible job of it.

Not sure if I'm going to do this twice a week, once a week or maybe every other week, or some variation there of. I do intend to do more no food fast though.
Well done and congratulations to all of you who've competed the 36 hour no food fast! I would like to say I'm inspired by your example but I just feel way too much of a wimp to do it myself. On fasting days I eat three 150 cal meals so I'm not used to going without food for several hours at a time. I also don't feel overly hungry when I do it, so I'm a bit scared of my hunger being overwhelming. It must give you a marvellous sense of control though. Maybe further down the line I can try it... Once again a big well done to all you 36ers!
Did 2 36 hour total fasts this week and found them easier than eating. Weigh day today and after 3 weeks of staying the same I have lost 2 lbs yeah. It means for the first time in 20 years I have a normal Bmi.
Fantastic news Roo.
Roo, great to hear the 36 hour fasts have kick started your weight loss and congrats on your milestone! Great to hear about success!
