Thanks Redhead, sitting here reading posts sipping water.Head s bit fuzzy & tight but not really hungry.Think I'm going to do it as long as don't get midnight munchies lol.Good luck to everyone else, day is almost over. :clover:
Well my hunger window is subsiding now, feeling pretty good although have far too much energy, not sure sleeping will be easy tonight! I've been up and down out my seat all evening findings jobs to do! I've watched other people have this kind if energy and never understood it, maybe they were secret fasters!
Sorry to read some people are struggling today, but I think you cannot fail as if you succumb to food you're just doing regular 5:2 and I'm sure I'll have some fasts where I end up enjoying a low calorie meal, just not today!
Keep going everyone it's nearly bedtime and then it's a done deal!
I'm really impressed with you lot - all that food around you!

I've got through the day pretty much the same as last week. Work, put the family's tea on, walk to pilates, 1 hours pilates, 45 brisk walk home, bath, here I am having avoided food most of the time.

I did have a moment today. My husband works round the corner from me and phoned me this afternoon to say his was taking a works van home so I had the car..........yes you've guessed it - I walked home.

It occurred to me today that my hungry moments were when I would normally have lunch and dinner. Is it possible that my body is still 'programmed' to eat three square meals a day (and not leave anything on the plate or I can't leave the table)? My mind is certainly happy not to eat and I would say I haven't found it difficult today at all. Gone 9pm and no hunger.
Having another moment. Forgot to mention breadandwine's post about negative feedback. Thank you B & W for posting it.

I believe that 36 is not for everyone and as previously mentioned there are lots of different ways to fast and there is no evidence which compares them and says which one is best. I don't like mindless criticism but constructive criticism is great because it really makes you think. I think a few folk on the other forum just opened there mouths and let their stomach rumble (must have been a fast day  ).

Don't knock 'til you've tried it.
Well today's variation seems to have worked ok for me so far - the test will be tomorrow once I eat again I guess .....

I have got through the day on 3 mugs of coffee, 1 diet coke, 2/3 litre of water and 2 half strength protein shakes (1/2 scoop shake in 1 pint of water) so all liquid and total of 120 calories but much less caffeine so I should sleep better and hopefully no upset stomach tomorrow ;)

Just trying to decide whether I give in to half a portion of low cal hot chocolate or tough it out....

This approach seems to be easier - still managing to control the munchies and keep cals ultra low but a bit less extreme too

And a run and a walk during the day so overall probably 2000 calories below TdEE overall ....

hope everyone who is sticking to zero calls makes it through to bed time without temptation
Wildmissus, I very much have my hungry waves around meal times, and then they pass. I'm sure my body goes "okay, that ones not happening today, wait for the next meal time". It's really very noticeable. Having said that, it's also pretty mild now. Most fast days, I really don't get very hungry, just those waves at meal times.

I found this 36 hour fast relatively easy. I think my body has become used to fasting, after 2 months of it, and I wasn't having my full 500 calories most fast days. I'd knocked it back to just a small dinner. So going this bit extra really hasn't been a big leap. I've just had a cup of tea with milk, and it's been just over 36 hours since my Sunday supper. Going to have a nice brekkie of mushroom omelette now, bet it'll taste delicious!
Well, finding out that hubby is going to be away again this week (a fairly recent work occurrence but with no set pattern) coupled with starting to feel truly rough tipped me over and turned today into a regular 5:2 fasting day, EXCEPT that I when I calculated up the meal I ate, it only came to 276 calories  Not a bad compromise I reckon, and I do feel a LOT better now. No cookies for me, hubby manned up and ate them both

Think I'll try for a 36 on Thursday (he'll be away again) as that's a good day for me, and was the day I managed the 36 last week. The children eat early with a friend and because I'm not tempted to sit with them, I don't feel tempted to eat. Here's hoping!
Today is my fourth 36 hour no food fast. I track all my food on MFP and had a weekly deficit of over 5000 yet still began this week 200g heavier than a week ago! I have found that a zero fast is the key to a drop in weight as a 'normal' fast can result in no loss at all, or even a gain last Wednesday! I also don't regain all of the amount lost so the overall trend is downwards. Only 1.5kg away from target at the moment and I hope today's efforts will help me get there.
Oh lots of you having to prepare food for your families - now that really takes some will power - well done to you all. I know I couldn't have done that when my family were younger.

My hunger pangs are really strong - but I so don't want to cave in - but I'm sooooo hungry - think I'll be off to bed with my book soon - I'm never hungry once I'm under the duvet !! Roll on the morning so we can all eat !!! :starving:
Great stuff, everyone, you all seem to be doing well!

I'm now 27 hours into my fast and tonight I had a vegetable curry - containing all of 87 calories! And that included a serving (60g) of broccoli!

It filled up my (side)plate - as well as me!

So I've just got a coffee now, until tomorrow. Supposed to be walking to a pub for lunch tomorrow - I probably won't eat until then.

I see absolutely no point in not having a pint and some grub just to go through to dinner time tomorrow night!

So, a fast of roughly 41/42 hours on 87 calories, I'm happy with that! Knowing I wasn't going to eat my <600 calories, I just went straight into the zone, and haven't felt the urge to nibble more, in the slightest! It's definitely all in the mind!

Hope the rest of you guys continue to do OK!

Cheers, B&W
Morning all - made it out the other side and it's a lovely sunny morning (but cold) - so what could be better. Well done b&w - 87cals is more than good and the reward of the pub sounds great - just don't advertise where you're going or you could find a few of us joining you if we were anywhere close  A bit lightheaded again this morning, but not as bad as last week - neither am I feeling as dehydrated. Broke my fast with a banana last week but have just spotted the fruit bowl is void of them er der  not sure which way to turn now! I'll have a cuppa and see. Would like to take this through to lunchtime (as I don't usually eat breakfast) - but will see how I feel in an hour or so. Look forward to everyone's reports as we all surface for the day.
Morning all! I just love the great feeling the morning after a fast! I will fast through until about midday and then have some lunch. Usually a sandwich or salad from M&S and fruit. Then I'll be eating normally tonight and tomorrow before fasting again on Thursday.
Morning everyone

Feel fairly good this morning - slept well, although still need to catch up with a weekend deficit. Going off for a run shortly, then will eat - hurrah!

Will definitely fast like this from now on - if nothing else, its so much cheaper and simpler than the effort I was putting into making fast day evening meals.

I'll be back on Thursday.
Had a bit of a late night last night but this morning I feel fine, not tired at all. Slight hint of the shakes so I've just had my tea and toast and it tasted so good. Like fasting from day one this is getting easier.
Yay we did it :) feel great this morning although woke up hungry, usually I manage to fast until lunchtime, I blame TOTM again :) so had my breakfast, tasted delicious, I'm ok now.
