I went for a walk up to my friends house this morning. 3.5 miles up hill (very steep in places). I stayed for an hour and then walked back. Very nice walk but I think I should have saved it for a non-fastday as it's made me very hungry. Only 4.5 hours left until dinner and counting. Have a big bite of cake for me @mrstee it sounds soooo nice. Lovely pics @pennyforthem
Well done for your walks everyone, keep it up, it must be doing us the world of good. :)

6.3k steps done so far, walked to Tesco, then off to the post office in the other direction, plus some meandering around doing housework/baking. Need to devise one more trip to get up to the magic 10k.

Well done everyone, uphill and a visit to Tescos too ! While I was testing the cake to see if it was edible (2 slices later and I survived !) mr fox came and had a go at my chickens, so the smelly dog is now fired as she didn't even bark ! She was indoors drooling at the cake (and yes, she still smells yuk ) I found a pile of feathers and one hen missing. after much scrabbling around in the mud I later found her under a bush, a bit bald and in shock, so now she's in the shed in the dog crate. Don't know if she'll survive or not. Maybe cake really is bad ! On the bright side I have walked more the than usual, looking for the hen ! Ho hum.

Some terrific walks on this Forum - my views are not at all interesting as I pound the pavements and I am surrounded by suburbia, but I do like to look and admire people's front gardens and sometimes I do go to the Library and a small village shopping centre.

I have only had my fitbit flex for less than two weeks, I have set it for 5,000 steps at the moment, I figure that is better than what exercise I did before - ZILCH!! I will aim to do 10,00 steps by Christmas that is my goal along with of course seeing the scales go down.

Thanks again for starting this thread Sallyo - it's nice to get out and move the body.

cheers Maggie

Hello walking buddies. I don't think I'll be going for a walk today. I stupidly had a carb heavy brunch at 11am and now I'm feeling it, note to self: don't break a fast with bread. I might go for my walk this evening but we'll see. Enjoy your walks everyone. @mrstee I do hope the hen is ok, poor thing.

Ok, it's raining in London, so I'm saving myself for 9.5 mile walk along the River Wey on Saturday. It's the first time I'll have walked over 6 miles since my knee injury 3 years ago - hoping I make it to the end.
PS I can drop out at six miles if the knee is playing up

I'm in London too and the rain dampened my ardour for a lunch-time walk to get away from the office  (I always try and go out on fast days so I can't smell or look at anyone else's lunch in here  !)- am hoping it might be drier early evening so I can get out then.

Good luck with your walk on Saturday @Lizbean :clover: :victory:

Hope you are all having a nice day

What a soggy day ! No speed walking accomplished yet, maybe it will clear up later, but it will have to be wellies again. Thanks for the interest in the hen with no name... She is still with us and even laid an egg for me today in the dog crate in the shed ! We took on some ex "barn hens" last spring so she was already on her second life before mr fox came along. I expect he'll be back though he must know there's not a lot of meat on her . Fast day today so no cake allowed.
A walk along a river sounds nice for Saturday and should be lacking in hills so good luck !

Awww bless her  - glad to hear she's perked up @mrstee (and even managed to lay an egg after all that!)
