I got in a mile walk just before it started raining at noon today. Will have to see if it lets up enough for me to take the dog out tonight. Forecast is for rain off an on for the next week! Well, the plants will like it anyway!

Here's an incentive for all ! In yesterday's newspaper it said that "inactivity is worse for hearts than smoking , and is a bigger cause of heart disease in women over 30."
Oh heck, get the umbrella I'm off for a walk ... Come on everyone !

Oh @Sue.Q - "hot Greek sun" - I am soooo jealous. It's grey and rainy in West London. Enjoy the beautiful weather (and food!)

Thanks @westlondonchick and @Sue.Q I haven't been for a walk yet (since wednesday) and if I'm honest I wasn't going to go for one today. See!!!, having you guys watching me really does work. I don't normally like to walk this late in the day because of the heat but I'm going to put on my trainers, a cap and suncream and off I go. I'll be back in an hour-ish and will check in . Thanks again.
Sue I hope you're having a lovely time and don't worry your fasting head is waiting for you when you get home. Enjoy you hols :)

5 miles today, over the Sussex Downs. Another bit of our Battle of Lewes celebrations. I decided to tough it out and didn't wear any wet weather gear, despite driving wind and rain. It was, err "challenging". But fun.

Well done @minumonline. Sounds like fun. You're much braver than me, I would have been head to toe in waterproofs, I'm like the wicked witch of the west, don't like the wet stuff. :)

@Minumonline that looks like a splendid walk.

Ok, it's confession time  my walking buddy and I failed to do our 9.5 mile walk along the river Wey yesterday, which is a shame as we had been looking forward to it for weeks. My friend was exhausted from a very busy week at work and I felt off centre from a funeral on Friday.

Instead we had a lovely lunch at le pain quotidienn in Notting Hill and went to the Coronet cinema and saw Inside Llewyn Davis.

@spanner did you make your 10 mile walk on Friday?

I'm meeting a friend for tea later this pm - I'll be walking there and back, so that's a 45 minute walkies!

It's nice and cool here today and I talked my daughter in to coming for a walk with me. I said we'd only go for about half an hour, she was ok with that. We took a different path and ended up going uphill for about 30 minutes. We cut through someones land and got a little lost. We knew which direction we had to go in but didn't know where the road was so just kept walking. It took us another 50 minutes to get home. I am secretly happy it turned into a long walk but I won't be telling daughter that as she didn't want to go in the first place. I'm just pleased the sun wasn't beating down on us. Lovely views of the village and surrounding countryside, I must take some pic next time to show you all. :)
