It's a beautiful day here and I'm going to head out for a walk shortly!

I have been struggling. Yesterday I managed to get out for a walk, did the Ulverstone-Forth Road and it was good. Not much traffic. There was road work and that was stopping traffic and letting them through in groups. I only saw plovers and some cattle eaglets, but the cattle galloped along the fence line after me which was exciting. Today is wet, so I may not walk.

Hello everybody

I have been forgetting to come on here and document my walking.

Yesterday I drove to a park and I walked on the track for about 40 mins - the setting is nothing like yours Sallyo but it's right near a creek and has lots of trees so it was lovely and I met a few people doing the same along the way and I saw plenty of cockatoos, galahs and Magpies.

Today I incorporated my walk when I did some shopping. I parked the car in the car park and after putting the shopping in the car, I started to take some back streets, ended up having a coffee somewhere, and then walked back to the car, so that was a great 30 mins.

Lucky I did that as it's now raining, and even though I know we should not be afraid of getting wet, I don't really like it!

cheers
Maggie

@Maggie, that's fabulous! my town walks aren't all that scenic, let me assure you. But rural Tasmania is not Melbourne, granted. I love the idea of incorporating a walk with a meander around the back streets and a coffee at some out of the way place.

I managed to get out today. Between 3pm and 4pm seems to be the time that suits. Today I did the Wilmot Road. I started out quite grumpy as I had had a bad day fighting with the computer. I hadn't accomplished what I wanted to and it had all taken far too long. However by the time I hit the Wilmot Road, I was ok, and started snapping with my i-phone: autumn leaves, vibrant green moss. After the rain, the creeks and drains were all tinkling and the river was moving faster than I was. I heard blue wrens, but didn't see any. But I did see a scarlet robin, a very special siting. It was sitting on a fence post. The wet smell of the country was gorgeous.

I listened to my Japanese course for half the walk, practising verb tenses: I will play soccer, yesterday I went swimming, now I am running - I don't think so! But coming home I took out my ear phones and heard the birds, and the water and allowed my thoughts to roam free. Planned my classes for tomorrow and now I fee relaxed and happy. Walking really is good.

Hi fastday walkers I'm one also that's been AWOL from this tent my login is still very intermittent that when I'm finally in I'm very fed up. Lol
My update did a nice walk yesterday about 5km across fields and return via the lanes.
Just getting ready + motivated to do the 9km walk today this one I've chosen because we've had overnight rain so my walk today is all country lanes, no fields planned unless I need to cut my walk shorter which I won't despite the fact in may rain again before my return.
I'm fasting again today back2back with yesterday so my walk will help fill up my day. :clover: :clover: :clover:

I had a VERY lazy Sunday - less than 3000 steps! Yesterday, I forced myself to take the dog for a walk in the evening, even though it was nearly 85 F (@30 C). Poor puppy was slowing down for the last couple of blocks - and yes we do walk on the grass mostly. In the end I got nearly 10,000 in yesterday. Today, my fitbit is running low, and don't have my charger with me. Hope it won't die until I get home!

I just ordered an Omron pedometer, on line. I know that having a pedometer really helps to motivate me to walk and I will soon be joining you on that target of 10,000 steps a day. I've had this kind of pedometer before and i loved it. When you get to the 10,000 steps a little figure appears on the screen, clapping and cheering. It's so encouraging! today is a work day. my plan, which I will report on to keep me accountable, is to go for a walk at lunch time. I'll take my car down to the tyre shop and leave it there to get new tyres and I'll go for a walk before returning to work to plan my classes. I only officially work for the morning so I can do what I like this afternoon. What i like, is to walk!

Today's day out with a planned lake walk was very good indeed weather not to good grey/damp/cold but we still did our 6km walk, my planned fastday just got changed to a 20:4 after hubby accepted invite for pub meal later.
Nevermind did back2back Mon/Tues that will have to suffice for this week. :clover: :clover: :clover:

That sounds like a great day out @Sue.Q and I particularly like the pub lunch! Well done my sweet.

My OH and I went up to the foothills and on to a walking/cycling trail. The trail follows the path of the old railway line through the Yarra Valley, and it has breathtaking views. We walked for about 4 kms and then later had a delicious cup of coffee.

All is going well at the moment with fasting/food/walking - I am so pleased with myself, and the scales are showing a vast improvement this morning. :like:

cheers

The new pedometer has arrived and I just have to set it up. No walking to speak of today. I did a bit in Hobart but not much. Tomorrow is a new day and I will set that pedometer to work and show it 10,000 steps and get that little person cheering on the screen. Keep it up, Walkers!

Hello walkers! My new pedometer is all set up. I haven't made it to 10,000 steps yet. It's on 9323. I went walking this morning, up the hill. I didn't do a full half hour walk, because I was pushed for time. This afternoon I went for a town walk and got it up into the 900s. I hope I'll get the rest just walking about the house tonight. I love my new pedometer. It tells me how many kms - (6.6) I've walked, how many kcal - what ever they are. It says 222 of them. If I get to the end of the day and I'm not at 10,000 steps, I'll walk down to the end of the street.

Good luck with the pedometer @sallyo I must dig out the new one I bought last year seemed so complicated at the time then stuffed it in a draw somewhere, I did have difficultly reaching the higher numbers in steps on days spent in and around the house.
Yesterday was a mini walk for about 40mins
Today's walk bit longer at 1hr+20mins, looking forward to a nicer/longer walk tomorrow. :clover: :clover: :clover:

yes, it is impossible for me to get to 10,000 steps unless I 'go on a walk'. Just puddling around the house won't do it.
