That sounds fab, Pennyforthem, you'll have to walk to the battery shop !
Wishing you a speedy recovery, Lizbean.
Right, I'm off round and round the garden again !

Good to read of your walks, over stiles, up dales, along the beach and in Regents Park. We are walking all over the world!

I walked up the Wilmot Road as far as the big blackwood tree. I saw a white face heron and admired the river tumbling over rocks and the tall gum trees. Some autumn leaves hanging on. It was 4km. I went in the morning after getting up early. I had to dress up warmly in a fleecy and scarf. I was inspired by you, Sue Q, with your morning walk yesterday. And I've got to 10,000 steps, 10,634 to be precise, so far. I am feeling much better today; throat still sore and a nasty cough but I'm not listless or achy. So it's looking up!

Well, my "don't go to bed till I've walked 10k steps" didn't quite work last week, but I managed it for 4/7 days, which is my best weekly record yet, so quite pleased. Have got enough outings booked today that I should make it easily. So lovely walking in this sunshine

Actually got up and went out instead of sitting thinking about it this morning. Feel much brighter for it and shopped on the way back (weight lifting?). :like:

Azureblue, I like the sound of an early walk, I'll give it a try too. I think I'll have to add a fast day this week, my daughter came in from school and gave me a choc ice which I ate without realising it and now she's made a yummy cake with blueberries and raspberries in too ! No way can I resist that, I wouldn't want to be rude would I ? Final problem .... husband wants fish n chips for supper, which I must admit I fancy too. I have walked quite a bit today too so I hope the scales won't be too cruel tomorrow !
Oh, and I also confess to helping clean the cake mix bowl by licking the spatula ! Yum. There, I've finished my confession, and nearly feel better !

This does feel a bit bonkers !

Yesterday, I did various errands, but only managed 6k steps by tea time. So after dinner, I went out for a long walk, taking in the river, Tesco and Aldi, and really enjoyed it, as there was still some sunshine, and I felt unrushed. But when I got home I was still 500 short, so went for a walk round the block, then was still 50 short, so went up and down stairs putting washing away

But I did it, 3rd day on the row made my 10k :like:

I've just been for an hour long walk. I did the main road/river walk today, I've not done that walk for quite a few week so it was a nice change. Happy walking all :)

Hugs to Sallyo and hope you are properly better soonest {{{+}}}

Just back from a stroll along a riverside in a nearby town - kingfisher, heron, six cygnets with proud parents, three tortoiseshell butterflies but where are the rest?
Couldn't go fast as my guts are in turmoil today after yesterday's stupid eating of a cheese and onion roll and a third of a pizza and some biscuits. I've not had wheat for a few weeks and boy am I suffering now. Bloated, awful pains and the runs in the night. Sorry TMI
Definitely not having any gluten grains again. Ever.

Hope you're feeling better @sallyo.
I've just been for a walk, was going to go for two hours but got 3 massive blister on my heal and had to come back. Strange I should get blisters after all these weeks of walking but it is what it is. Ended up walking for a bit longer than an hour.

Hello you lovely walkers! I'm back after a busy, busy time. I do get quite frustrated not being able to spend more time on the forum. Are you feeling better @Sallyo? Thanks @Mrstee I attended my second session with the chiropractor - he is fabulous. Basically I am out of alignment because I'm protecting/ compensating for my dodgy knee - so I have been given exercises and plan to go for treatment once a week. My hip still hurts in certain positions (dull pain) but it's only in the background.

Tomorrow is brunch with a friend at Kenwood House and then walking over Hampstead Heath to the Affordable Art Fair. So, its a day of being on my feet. I'll try remember to take some pics and post them.

Today I'll walk to Crouch End for the weekly shop and I have some serious gardening to do this pm.

Happy walking everyone.

Buddy @spanner - have you any of your epic rambles planned?

Fabulous report, @lizbean. How wonderful to be walking around Hamstead Heath. My great aunt lived near there in the 1920s and I can read about it in her letters home. Imagine wild primroses and blue bells. Is it still like that?

I am getting better but i am still coughing and get tired easily - like yesterday vacuuming the lounge was as much as I could do. I don't think I'm ready to go back walking. I think it's grief, actually. Obviously I have a cold but I think I have had a physical reaction to my mother's death. I will just take it easy and let the feelings come and go, and the coughing.

Have wonderful walks everyone and I will be back soon.

So sorry you are suffering Sallyo, I hope you feel better soon. I really appreciate this tent, for getting me to commit to walking more, and helping me stick to it.

Hello Everybody

I am just popping into this tent to record I have only had one good week in the last week. I think I have the 'winter blues' - I can't seem to get out of the house, I am feeling cold and I certainly can't be bothered doing any exercise - walking or otherwise!

My eating is going OK, but the exercise is non-existent!

Thinking of you @Sallyoxx
