I see the tent has been quiet for a few days.................. So I failed to walk to the tube and also at lunchtime - in fact I forgot till I re-read my last message just now  . Mindful walking it required to get to 10k steps.... must do better. I see swimming is on the agenda for some - which is very enticing as it is 30 degrees in London today. We swim at the Ladies pond on Hampstead Heath, there is also a mans pool and mixed pool.

Not been walking today but did spend two hours with my neighbour ripping ivy from the front of the house so I feel well exercised!

@Janeg are you still in Glasgow?

Off to plan the weekend ahead - walking that is

just back from a 2 hour walk with my sister, up hill at times. It's so much easier when walking and talking with someone. We said we will do it most days this week. My sister being here is just what I need to get me out walking again. :)

@justdee glad you have your sister to walk with, I agree walking and talking is so pleasurable. My walking friend moved abroad earlier this month so I have struggled with motivation. Work will quieten down in a couple of weeks, then I'll have time to find a likeminded walking buddy. No walking today as I have a work deadline for tomorrow.

@Lizbean now in Inverness. Doing so much walking! I am in Heaven!.
Glasgow is brilliant for wandering although we weren't there too long. Another walk to my mother's. Then a wee wander with my friend in Milngavie around a country park. Collected chantrelles, saw loads of flowers and trees and stuff!!! A wee wander took us just under two hours. How can that be???? :) then a sit oot in the garden.
Next day off to Aberdeen via the Falkirk wheel and the Kelpies. I was soooo excited and not at all disappointed. They are stunning. Beautiful walking around them too on the canal banking and tow paths.
Now in Inverness and walking merrily. Across the river and up to the canal where non diving daughter is moving to. We've a few days here and will be out exploring.
loving the light nights and seeing the difference in what is growing and what stage it is at compared to london and yorkshire area.
I am one very very happy bunny (unicorn).:D :D :D

@janeg I'm so glad you are having a wonderful time, great post, thanks for sharing with us. I'm quite jealous, however you have uplifted me during my short break from work   I off to complete another wee 3 hours worth!

@Sallyo, how are you doing? I hope to see you later on the Monday fast thread :clover:

Just back from walking round Bedford River Festival. It happens once every two years, thousands attend, there's everything from a narrowboat regatta to raft racing to a Lancaster bomber fly over to endless stalls of everything under the sun. Later the red arrows will fly over and then fireworks but we were too hot and tired to stay on.
Just drinking tea and thinking about my mackeral and veg for dinner, I've probably not drunk enough water this fast day so must rectify that this evening.
A pleasant evening/morning to you all :0)

@lizbean , not walking! It's too cold and I can't get myself out there. School goes back this week, so I'll try at least to walk to work on Wednesday. I lost my pedometer and I am so upset, and cross with myself, I'm self sabotaging. probably. I need a good talking to.

{{{+}}} to Sallyo, hope your pedometer surfaces and your walking head returns soon {{{+}}}

Hi @Sallyo sounds like you are talking yourself round. Time to stop being so hard on yourself and treat yourself to another pedometer? If it gave you joy (ding a ling!) and spurred you on then replace it and move on. How long till the weather improves?

I self sabotaged yesterday working at home to a deadline - to the point I could not sleep till 4am ........... and now I feel

Off to work ..........
Re: Walking tent

@lizbeanWell, I want to buy another one, but I can't because there isn't enough money. Too many other bills at the moment and I lost it almost as soon as i got it. And really, I SHOULDN'T need it! I know how far I have to walk in a day to get my 10,000 steps. I know exactly where I have to walk to and back. It's just a weak excuse for not doing it. What will eventually get me out there is insomnia. It will kick in and drive me mad until I get more exercise. The weather is another excuse. It's cold but if you rug up you soon get warm walking. I hope I get back to it soon. The days are getting longer now so that will help.
