@Sassy1 I  London! I know many who have left over the years for a quieter lifestyle. I just get a buzz from experiencing something new everyday - and you can do so much at little or no cost. Back from my walk - 7k steps plus a rhubarb plant which is an early February producer and an evergreen herb from the med called winter savoury, a bit like mint, rub into meat or add to a hearty winter soup. The garden centre had all the bulbs in for Sept/Oct planting ... tulips, daffs etc. But I'll buy online as it is so much cheaper!! London has an open house weekend towards end of Sept, so I'm looking forward to going to see some iconic buildings that only open up to the public once a year. This afternoon is for decluttering, so I'm off to the declutter tent to pledge :victory: :victory: :victory:
@Sallyo - google earth has no people, so Hobart is a ghost town but the water front looks amazing and I saw the mountains too. I'll have a look at London, it's probably deserted too, quite weird
@Sue.Q  the peaks, spent many a happy times there over the last 3 years. How's the booties coming on?
@CandiceMarie how's the doggie walking search going? Have you thought of being a doggie owner?
Well, if you folks come to London - that's a meet up, I'll be your guide to a fantastic time!
OK, down to declutt business, then I'm calling BT to get a better deal!! xx

@Lizbean, it has been my experience too that there is so much to do in London at little or no cost. It's great that the public museums and galleries are free. What open houses are you planning to visit? We usually stay in South Kensington when on hols, but have also stayed near and around The Institute of Education (when I was lucky enough to travel for work!). And I love seeing London in the British TV shows that we watch. One that was particularly special was the series about junior doctors working in the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital - where my mum spent a few days on our last visit (...!!). Was great to say "I was there, I walked along that corridor, I took that lift" etc.

I would love to meet fellow fasters in London and elsewhere in the UK when I next visit. :) :) I am English by birth and have been fortunate to get back every few years of late. Tho now we have the caravan, there is a tendency to favour holidays in the van. Just have to convince OH that a UK trip should be on the cards. :) All my relatives apart from parents and sister are still in England, and I do enjoy catching up with them and other friends. I will certainly let the forum know when we will be over.

I should join the decluttering tent. :) I have a major job to do in our house; OH and I both have trouble throwing things out and tho on the surface everything looks ok, don't you open a cupboard!! My excuse is that most of these things aren't rubbish and could have a continuing "life" somewhere, but I just can't get around to sorting them out and finding where their new home could be... Perhaps if I join the tent I might get motivated??

I have walked the dogs today as I do almost everyday. Had a lot of rain overnight so they got rather muddy. Just as well our carpet is over 40 years old...

Enjoy your walks! :D

Lots of stuff happening on here, Ill have a read through when a get time.
A beautiful day here in the Blue Mountains, none of the predicted rain yet. All the plants are coming to life after winter so its just lovely checking out everyones gardens. I have been for my 40 minute walk to pick up the mail and am now sitting at work wasting time

The Blue Mountains are another wonderful place for walks. It's been a few years since I was there, must go back again. Hope the sun stays shining :)

The sun is just glinting out here in the Dandenongs, after a foggy morning. The latter half of the week is supposed to be fine - there are signs of spring tho it all seems a bit late this year - daffodils are just coming out. The daphne outside our front door smells divine tho. :D

It's lovely reading of your growing Aussie Spring as I sit in a chilly wet UK! I fear we may get a very long winter as Autumn has arrived a month early here :0@. It's sending me into early hibernation so I must fight that and get out walking.
More on your lovely awakening flowers please :0)

@Azureblue if it makes you feel better it's raining here now. It's night now though so I can listen to it tucked up in bed.

@wineoclock you made me laugh "I have been for my 40 minute walk to pick up the mail and am now sitting at work wasting time " - how do you waste time at work?

@Sassy1 here is the list of open houses http://www.londonopenhouse.org . I have entered the draw for Downing Street. So much to choose from. I'd quite like to visit some of the conversions of Victorian homes into sustainable homes and new builds.

@Azureblue - glad I walked yesterday, yes it's tippling down and we have all the lights on in the house..... so I'm off to finish decluttering the loft items that are presently in the bedroom.

Happy walking.

@Lizbean business is dead quiet at the moment so going to work is a waste of time.
I can log in from home so I just went in to drop off the mail and ended up playing solitaire on the computer thereby wasting time.

Morning walkers. It is another rainy day, though the forecast says it should pick up this afternoon, in which case I'll be walking to and fro to the charity shop with full suitcases - the hallway is stacked high! This could be a marathon

This is my commitment to walk in the morning. It's park the car away from work and walk to work. I think I'll park up Steele street where I can walk to the nursery on my way home and buy seed raising mix. Planting tomato seed this week.

@Sallyo glad to hear you are planning for this years produce. No mindful walking happening this end - I'm off to Lancashire till Sat eve, to see parents so not a great deal of walking will take place apart from a brisk walk round the block for fresh air as their home is very hot. That said I'll be very active in doing household tasks. Missing my Thursday fast :frown: but I'll 16:8 to help keep me on track. Happy walking everyone, from yet another drizzly day in London.

Blue sky and some clouds here in South Lincolnshire but the rain is heading this way, so I better head out for today's walk very soon! My recent acquisition of a Fitbit flex has been encouraging me to walk more but my poor old black labrador is paying the price. Yesterday, after a walk of just over 2 miles, she has developed a limp so I am resting her today. No excuse for me though - I've got to go even if she doesn't! Yesterday my husband came too but he wanted to keep stopping to check his iPhone app - so irritating! Today, I'll probably leave him behind too - he can keep the dog company!

Haha @stowgateresident that made me laugh. I have been rubbish at walking recently ! School hols means I can't just nip out when I fancy it and one of our dogs has been on heat, so we're officially grounded. Even marching round the garden has been difficult as the dogs next door are over keen to come through the hedge ! Don't want any puppies ! I wouldn't dream of walking without the dogs, they'd definitely know and do their best sad faces ! The kids are back to school in a few days so I should be back to normal soon. But it's great to hear about your walks and changing seasons. It's definitely autumn here, the big spiders are coming back indoors (and into the bath.... Do they fall in or come up the plug hole ?). And the swallows are gathering to go back south. I'll miss them a lot. Keep on walking everyone !

@mrstee I have so missed you marching around the garden  it was a lovely hot summers day here today, so I hope the spiders retreat and we have an Indian summer - an extended summer ..... back to work in the morning for me :frown: three weeks of grand stress management! Next w/end I shall walk and walk mindfully.

I've been walking most everyday. The days I've missed I've spent a couple of hours working in the garden. We are about to get rain according to the radar so I'm off to my local Bunnings warehouse (hardware chain) for an indoor walk. It's a humongous building so should work well.
