PS ..beany,those Oscar nights sound such fun! I hope you get the funtimes back x x
Its so sad how we miss out now on fun..
How often do you guys get out and about to do something nice?
These days i go out an average of three times a week, just for a few hours..i am lucky that my Beau comes round and whisks me off in the car..just to the park or to get the shopping or to see a film/ have lunch or to see DD
Usually out for 2 - 3 hrs, then need to get home, get into pjs
Its nice but its frustrating coz wd love to be out daily
My best friend goes to Australia for six months of every yr and tho i miss her,i' m almost relieved, coz she'd like us to go out at least once a week, every week, but it ends up being only once every 2-3 weeks. My two other friends i only see every 3 months or so..theyre sisters and one lives down south..when she comes up visiting,i meet up with them both. Our next meetup is Wednesday.
Aside from that, i ' ll occasionally have a cuppa with one or other of my neighbours.
The other thing is, i find it v difficult if theres more than two - three at most - people together at one time.
I miss the old me who was so sociable and full of life!
My Beau taking me in the car makes all the difference and makes things a lot more ' do able' So i do feel lucky.
How about you guys? Are you about the same/ worse/ better than that social lifewise? X

I think its about 4.5 mls Bean..but from what ive read,a lot if people seem to find 3 or 3.5 mls is their optimum dose x

Ooooh getting ever closer Candy.
I agree with everything you say. I very rarely get to go out socialising. I used to have a friend from work that I'd meet up with but then she just disappeared. Got bored I guess.
I'm glad that you still have several friends, though, Candy and you've got your beau. I guess when you do have social events you just need to have a day of doing nothing before and after, so that all your energy can be used for your friend. So difficult, though, isn't it. I hope you'll be well enough for Wednesday's little chit-chat.
Ooops just popping off for my din dins...cottage pie. I can't tell you how ready I am for this!
Laters! ....

Hi@CandiceMarie,@nursebean, so sorry I'm just getting back on. This week has been insane. We have been trying to complete a project that included clearing out a rented stomach space that needs to be done by the weekend. And of course, as soon as we notified the folks we were clearing out we got ice storms, and two different snow storms, making it a bit of a challenge. :-) so I've been physically exerting myself, which leaves little mental powers for posting.
Hope you are both having a good day. Let's see if I can catch up....the Koolaide thing isn't exactly like Berocca, it's basically a drink. It made of artificial colors, flavors and citric acid, marketed for children. No redeeming qualities what so ever . :-) it does expand the flavors of the electrolyte drink that I can make. You may not have anything similar because you all are not as careless about what you call food as we are.
Bangers and mash, I had heard of for a very long time and had difficulty getting Hubby to try. He doesn't like gravies. But once I convinced him to try, he loves it and has declared Sunday to be bangers and mash day. :-)
We generally fast on Tues. and Fri. Although may not today be cause of the project needing finishing. Hopefully the seven inches of snow will clear by day's end.
As far as socializing, we pretty much don't. I used to be busy working, and singing with the Sweet Adelines. We moved back to Tennessee to be near family, but I still never see anyone. Oh, well, I have adjusted to this life, just wish Deidre's could be different.
Gotta run, hubby is up and ready for morning coffee. Wishing you a great weekend. Love, Phyl

Hi there Phyl@MountainMyst sounds like youre very busy and got a bit too much on yr plate between clearing out the storGe space and all that snow...hope you can recuperate over the weekend.
I was rash enough to go out for the afternoon with my two friends who are sisters..had a good catch up and a laugh...
Really relapsed yesterday and today...taking it very quietly and sleeping a lot
Too hot which always seems to happen when i crash a bit

Sunday Bangers and Mash Day is good idea! :like:
Sweet Adelines..are you on Youtube at all Phyl?
You ok @nursebean? XX

Urghh! Just wrote a long reply and then when I posted it, it took me out of the forum. What a pain this site is sometimes! :curse:
Basically I was shocked to hear you are "clearing out rented STOMACH space" @MountainMyst!! Sounds horrendous
Then I mentioned how full on yesterday was: I had to do up parcels, post them, walk the dogs, pick up their food, take mum out for lunch then get back and realise I had sales that entailed driving the package to Parcel Pete in Aldershot which involved driving in rush hour. I didn't think I would be able to do it (felt like crying I felt so bad) but managed it and felt SO relieved when home. Needless to say I didn't do anything else all evening.
I think we've all bean a bit silly lately, overstretching ourselves. Mind you, if we didn't we wouldn't get anything done or, for that matter, have any fun, would we. My sister keeps telling me I should try and find a man but I'm not sure a man would want to put up with me working at half mast. Hey ho!
Well I hope you two have recovered enough to have a wicked weekend!
Take it easy now, d'you hear? Image

Hi bean @nursebean..youre right, we wd never get anything done / have any fun..we wd have no life at all ....as it is,we have half a life most of the time...
Hmm a man in yr life..i have mixed feelings..i started seeing my Beau - or Boo as its more trendy to say! - back in 2010, when i had some kind of remission ..i thought i had made complete recovery coz i had ten months of " normality" before i crashed again. What a disappointment THAT was!
He brings so much into my life as he is kind, helpful, considerate, takes me wherever i need to go and for fun drives out/ lunches etc..we have lots in common BUT ( big but or in my case, big butt!)
it brings its own pressures ..sometimes i feel it wd be easier to be on my own..i feel i am being selfish really coz i hold him back from being with someone 24/7 which i know is what he wd really like..he isnt someone who is happiest having a lot of time and space to himself, which he does have, coz i need lots time/ space.
I've suggested more than once that we break up so he can find someone in good health, but so far he's chosen not to.
I am lucky he is very easygoing and i love having him in my life..but in other ways,he is just one more person to worry about! So what i' m trying to say is,in reply to yr sister, a man in yr life doesnt necessarily make life for the person with ME any easier! Better maybe, but easier,no!

Oh Candy, I feel for you, I really do! BUT your man sounds lovely, really kind. You've bean together now for over 4 years. I think if he found you a burden he would have left a long time ago. Don't add pressure on yourself by feeling guilty...just enjoy! Easier said than done I'm sure but don't waste your precious energy by worrying. xx
I don't think I'm up to meeting a man at the moment, although I'd long to be like my sister and have a young family of my own.
Anyway, enough of this, I've got enough gloom going on outside my door today. What a miserable day. I don't think the girls will be going out today. They don't do walkies in the rain  Image Image

Hi gang, @nursebean, oh, my, I am brain dead, didn't even notice the rented stomach space. :-) gotta love autocorrect. I LOVE your animation of walking the doggies, flying along behind them. That is precisely why I'm not allowed to walk Maisie anymore. Only I don't fly, I drag on the ground. :-)
I can so relate to your feeling of dread trying to drive when you are exhausted. So glad you made it there and home safely. d.D. Is always getting the " you need to find a man" bit too. She says, unless a knight is shining armor shows up at my door, it's not likely. It would be lovely if you could both find someone to be with that understood.
@CandiceMarie, so glad to got the chance to visit with some friends. Sometimes it's worth the crash isn't it? I agree with Beany, if your fella wanted out, he would have fled a long time ago. He obviously cares for you, and why wouldn't he, you're terrific!!! I do know what you mean about adding to the stress sometimes though. When the doctor says, go to the gym, spend some time in the pool. They don't realize that ALL my energy has to go to caring for my family and myself. We need to able to walk through the house( sometimes it's an obstacle course) and we need to eat. That takes all the energy I have. I would love for them to get the chance to live our lives just for a week or two( not very nice of me ) .
Well, my friends, I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday! I'm off to do last nights supper dishes. Ah, what adventures I have. ;-) love, Phyl

Good point MM @mountainmyst
Most of our precious energy used up in routine tasks like keeping ourselves and our environment clean...

Hi @CandiceMarie,@nursebean and all our buddies. I'm sitting here listening to the rain. Yesterday it was very warm and springlike, today we are getting freezing rain and snow. Gotta love Tennessee in March. :-)
Sorry I've been gone, I had a few more busy days, and the resulting brain fog. One day I went shopping, usually by the time we get to the shop, I'm too tired to care. But this week, I actually bought myself some new clothes!! Deidre said, "mom, it's about time you had clothes that fit" so I bought some skinny jeans and a couple of tops. The jeans were a size 8!!! I don't think I've ever worn an 8 before, except maybe when I was 8. :-) I haven't spent much on clothes, just a couple of things at the charity shop to get me through. I still like the charity shop because I'm a cheapskate, but I will buy a new outfit once in a while(as long as it's on sale) ;-)
So, that's my adventure for the week, how are you all doing? Hope it's a good week and things are going swimmingly. Love, Phyl

Hey Phyl@MountainMyst! So pleased you had a little shopping spree!
You must be looking very svelte in your size 8 jeans! :like:
I love bargains and i love finding good buys in charity shops too..bargain hunting even better when we have grownup daughters with us and can have a coffee and cake and watch the world go by!
I ' ve bean home most of this last week, had a bit of a relapse or could it just be side effects of the meds? Hard to say - it all feels the same...ghastly!
Anyway i DID get to the cinema but found watching the film very tiring...
was lovely to get out tho.
Our clocks go forward this weekend,so it will be nice to have the longer days..spring is deffo in the air! X x

Hi@candiceMarie, I'm so sorry you are feeling ghastly, and that you trip out got diminished because of it. No fair!! Hope you are feeling better soon, be sure to rest up and be good to yourself! I love the charity shops too, D.D. And I love just looking around when we have the energy. Looking forward to spring, our clocks spring forward this weekend also. Pretty soon I'll be whining because it's too hot. :-) sending you a gentle hug. phyllis
