Hi @justdee, I've today joined the site and yours was the first thread that I read and I have to say that you've got me inspired. It's fascinating to read your Fastday journey so far and it's fair to say that @Sue.Q has been a great source of support for you.
Well done. K

Thanks for posting this @Beancounterkay, I haven't had the easiest of journeys so far but I'm so glad I could inspire someone. Trying to lose weight with this way of eating (WOE) is very bumpy but definitely DOES work. @Sue.Q is my fasting angel and without her I wouldn't still be doing this. She pulls me back in when things get tough. sue. Welcome to the forum and to this WOE, it will be the best thing you ever do for your health. Post on here and get to know everyone, they're all very nice and it's so much easier with everyones support. Go on the tracker and put in your info (you can keep it private or make it public) and measure everywhere, the scales don't always tell us the truth. When is your first fast? Like sue said go on the 'fasting today' thread and let us know how you're getting on. On fastdays a lot of us try to save all our calories for the evening meal. when you start eating earlier in the day it seems to wake the hunger monster and makes the day much harder. Drink plenty of water and keep yourself busy. Good luck and if you have any questions just ask?
Today went well. I have done a lot of walking, only around all the shops in town but still a lot of walking. Didn't eat today until just after 2pm (sandwich) and I've just got back from a meal out with the family. I couldn't believe how big the meals were and decided to share a carbonara with my daughter, more than enough. Everyone else in the place were having a meal to themselves and finishing them, wow, I can't believe I used to be able to eat like that. Another good day foodwise. Keeping a little daily diary on here is really helping me stay on track.
Well done Dee on sharing the meal I've thought for sometime that the meals in the UK are not only far to big but unfortunately getting bigger, and you're doing very well faced with all these food problems and new dilemmas while away from home,
Happy shopping @justdee

I managed not to eat until 1pm today, which was ok but tonight my daughter and nephew made homemade pizza for dinner, it was nice enough but is feeling very heavy in my tum. Not sure of the cals but there was LOTS of cheese. Also had some chocolate today, first time since being here, that is progress. If I gain this week I'm blaming it on today. I'm just going to keep doing the best I can, next week is back to normal.
Hope you enjoyed the pizza and choc, buddy, @justdee!
I'm sure you won't have gained, and if you have, it will only be a blip The great thing about this WoL is that we ARE allowed chocolate and pizza, carbonara and sarnies - as long as it's in moderation.
Best of luck for the rest of the week xx

Thanks @pinchypops. I think I've handled my time here (foodwise) very well so far and have eaten a lot less than I normally would have. If I do gain it will be a lot less than if I'd not tried. I'm looking forwards to getting back to 4:3 next week and fixing any gain. The end of the week will be challenging as we get ready to leave, lots of things planned with everyone and most of it include food
Hope you're having a good week bud. Don't worry about going over 500 today, it's still a low cal day, it's fine as long as we don't do it too often.

Another 16:8 for me today. I didn't eat until after 1pm. I've been out all day with the family today, lots of walking was done. It would have been nice to get a fast in this week but it's not going to happen, never mind I'll be back on it next week.
Things are starting to slip a little now. I first ate at around 12 today. I've not had breakfast at all this week (something I've never managed before) and most days have been 16:8 or less but I don't think that's enough for a stay the same on the scale this week. Only a few more days and all will be back to normal.
Good to hear from you. You are doing well. I had quite a few comments at my small portion sizes when in the UK last week. Stick with it and don't worry about the scales. It will all get sorted once you are back in the driving seat.
The last few days have been 16:8 or there abouts, yesterday was a normal nonfastday. I haven't posted for last few days as been verrry busy. I'm back home now and should be fasting today but I'm going to leave it until Wednesday because I have no salad or veg in and have to go shopping. I weighed in this morning (I normally weigh after fastday) and the scale says I'm 3lbs up. Of those 3lbs 2 of them are because I've weighed after a nonfastday so I think I've gained about a lb. Very pleased with this and fingers crossed it will be gone by Saturday.
Well done Dee I'd say that was a good result considering your time in the UK tempted by very large carb laden meals time for you to shop for all your fresh goodies then back to fasting @justdee.
Well done! Good to get home and back to routine.
Ok confession time... My fast went well yesterday until about 10pm, I don't know what happened or why but I decided to have a little bit of chocolate, that little bit turned in to loads and loads. And I totally sabotaged my fastday. So to sum up last week went really well and I only gained a lb, now I'm back at home I've (as of this morning) gained 3 more lbs I've not even been back a week yet. Tomorrow will be a fastday for me and I have to be really focused and get back on track. Why is it so hard to get back on it when we've had time off?
