I'm a big fan of the classic Moosewood cookbook. Otherwise I get a lot of recipes from the New York Times. I liked Mark Bittman's recipes when he was doing that instead of writing a column. His 101 salad ideas is my Bible in the summer.

Sunday, day twenty-one, feed day: heavenly breakfast (after four as usual) of toasted almond-muffin-cake with butter and coffee with cream - feed days on low-carb can be deliciously indulgent. Dinner was just that: field mushrooms with blue cheese custard - time pressed so the eggy bit of the custar...

I have the BBC Good Food books 101 Low Fat Feasts and More Low Fat feasts which include the recipe posted by LoopyLoo. I was looking through them earlier today for inspiration as I have been living on chicken or salmon with salad during this hot weather. In many cases the recipe calorie count looks ...

Very interesting! I heard something a while ago that has really stuck with me........ If your great-grandmother wouldn't recognize something as food then it's probably highly processed and not very good for you! Considering my great grandmother lived to 101 it would probably be a good idea to take t...

Sunday, day fourteen, feed day : final day of Rose Elliot's low-carb vegetarian two week 'carb-cleanse' phase... One might try to blame the berries, almonds and cream, or perhaps the pinot grigio spritzer, for my carb blow-out today (29.4g), but one would be very wrong: it was the Co-op ready mixed ...

Mark Bittman, back when he used to do recipes rather than a column in the NYTimes, had a "101 ideas" series. My favorite one was salads. They're more a list of ingredients than an actual recipe. Two peaches, cubed Two tomatoes, cubed thinly sliced red onion (about an 1/8 of an onion or les...
